Three cheers for the 47%!

 

Darn those poor people. Can't they just get enterprising and freedom-loving, moving on up?! America doesn't want to be like---Europe, with their kings and paupers.



Those 47% are always the 47%! It's because of America's mad descent towards...Europe.

 

When I first heard about this I wanted to give Romney the benefit of the doubt and that it might be one line taken out of context but this isn't just one line. If Romney had stopped at just "47% of the country won't support him" this wouldn't be so much an issue as it would be an acknowledgement of how divided our politics are. What is really getting him in trouble is going to on to say they are all deadbeats and he doesn't care about them.

Just to add you also have to consider that Romney hasn't disowned these statements just said they weren't elegantly stated.

 

Theoretically, I should be on that downward tax slope. I guess we make too much money, darn it. And basso, who is in the 47% and refuses to admit it, still whining, with liltexxx, about a Black man sitting in the Oval Office (I don't know what else to call their ardent opposition to the man, considering the language they use when talking about him), I would call him pathetic if he weren't so tragic. Some day, perhaps, he'll wake up and smell the coffee. The very social programs that assist families with special needs children are Democratic constructs. I guess the truth is too much to handle.

 

Another issue that I haven't seen mentioned much and I haven't seen the video or transcript but Romney at this same event also talked about foreign policy and that in his opinion convincing Israel to give land for peace was a waste of time and that the Palestinians have no interest in peace. The PA has already denounced this and if Romney does win this could handicap him with dealing with the Middle East.

 

With a son graduating with a degree in computer engineering in December, and doing it without a dime of debt thanks to his crazy parents, I sure as hell hope he does as well as we have. We need our two children to help us out if we manage to reach really old age, if we want to live in the style that we've become accustomed to, which is ball park, or better (depending on which set of parents we're talking about) than our own parents. Yes, upward mobility still exists in America, despite the efforts of the Republican Party, who desire to concentrate wealth in a smaller and smaller percentage of the American people. I'm still waiting for the average Republican to figure out which party actually benefits them. Romney is busy helping out. Heck, he's helping out a lot.
