    Anyone watch the premiere?

I don't understand what sets this show apart from any of the other in the same genre. It seems like the same dribble crap all over again. And, as soon as you start watching it, are feeling entertained, and it starts to get interesting, they will yank it out from under your nose.

I give it one season and...cancelled.

That said...it was okay and it had a lot of familiar faces...including Gus from "Breaking Bad", the blonde woman from "V" (also, cancelled), an idiot lookalike (the werewolf guy) from the Twilight films, a nice looking younger blonde I didn't recognize, and some others.

It felt a lot like I was watching a culmination of cancelled, similar shows borrowing elements from each. It also felt like I was watching "The Postman" without the postman. They even had a stupid military gang with arm tatoos and Gus the leader (still a badass).

I guess the only thing they may be able to do to help keep it going is keep the costs down moreso than some other doomsday type shows because it is a world without power basically. Therefore, they can do cheaper sets, no special effects, etc. .

    Cancel it already!

Watched it, it was alright but I wouldn't say good either. I'll give it a few more episodes to see if anything picks up but I think you are right about it being a 1 & done type show.

I'll catch the first episode tonight on Demand, only because Gus is in it. I haven't had faith in any major broadcast network shows since Lost.

A sci fi show on NBC?

Why bother watching it. If it turns out to be awesome and you invest your time in it you will be pissed off when it is cancelled at the end of the season.

There is no chance this show gets more than a year on NBC.

I didn't even finish watching the pilot. I got bored personally. None of the characters feel "real".

I couldn't finish watching the first episode, it was just mediocre dribble. I felt bad for Gus, but at least he is receiving a paycheck.

I like the Idea, but the execution was mediocre. I know I will be disappointed when they talk about the people involved in a show more than the actual show. I was hoping it would be great with the guy who made Supernatural at the helm; First 5 seasons of Supernatural was BANANAS.

I actually enjoyed the premiere, but that's probably because I came in with seriously low expectations, so take that for what it is. I thought the whole "world without electricity" plot was a little dull, but I think they set the groundwork for some decently interesting things to take place, but obviously that depends on where they decide to go with it.

The character development will be the thing that really keeps this show going or not, because the pilot didn't do a good job of getting the audience emotionally attached to literally any character.

Also, they're definitely going to have to bring something new to the table in terms of the whole post-apocolyptic setting, because it's been rehashed time and time again. Something will have to set it apart or else this show will make it through 1-2 seasons tops.

As I said, I had low expectations, but now I'm decently intrigued. It looks like I'm in the minority, and I'm certainly not expecting it to be on Dexter, Lost, etc.'s level, but I think it has potential. I'm gonna tune in next week and see how it goes.

I watched it and wasn't impressed at all. Poor acting and what bothered me the most was the fight scenes, which were just flat out bad. I'll give it a chance to pick up in the next episode but I can see myself removing it from my DVR line up after next week.

I didn't see it but feel like I did after all of the commercials during the Olympics. One which is starting to become a pet peeve of mine with these post apocalyptic shows is that they have supposedly gone back to a pre-industrial state of existence for years yet you still have all these people going around with clean clothes, hair and teeth. I guess it wouldn't be that appealing to have the hot young starlet with matted hair, yellowing teeth and out of control acne. Plus it would distract from her wooden acting.

I watched because of Gus Fring. It was an okay pilot, kind of underwhelming since the director of Iron Man directed it. I'm a fan of Eric Kripke because of Supernatural so I'm hoping it gets better later on.

I drove past a billboard advertisement for it. It looked bad. I'm glad to see my impression confirmed.

I mean simple logic would say that after 15 years of doing things without electricity, they would have adapted enough to at least learn how to bathe and wash clothes. That's a bit of a nitpick.

The show ain't great, but like all shows, I'm willing to give it a few episodes.

I watched it and thought it was okay. Not Great. I'm willing to give it a few episodes because so many popular shows have terrible pilots (Big Bang theory for one).

Not to start a derail, but Big Bang Theory is terrible. So, the pilot was at least consistent. Popular? Sure, but still terrible.

I love the concept but this show won't last a full season if the pilot is any indication. The actress portraying the girl who's father was killed clearly isn't ready for a leading role. They really blew it choosing her.

Has promise, but the premiere felt like every other generic genre show on NBC in the last few years. I might as well have been watching The Event (cancelled after one season) or The Cape (cancelled after one season, Revolution Big Bad is ... the dude who played The Cape). Similar production values, wooden dialogue, and one-dimensional characters.

The frontier men had a whole lot of time but they were still filthy.
The people from the middle ages were filthy.

The girl from that show (and others) are very very clean and wear brand new leather jacket and shoes.

Thomas Jefferson lived without electricity but looks adequately put together. Peasants and frontiersmen were dirty because they were poor, not because they didn't have electricity. Besides, they only look dirty in movies -- do you have any photographic proof of actual dirty peasants from the middle ages? You just need some brushes and combs, water, needle and thread, and some sewing skills to look presentable. You don't need electricity.

didn't watch it but what I didn't get from the previews was this:

they have crossbows and swords to fight each other because all of electricity and all was killed somehow

why cant they still have guns -- guns dont run on electricity -- someone could have a revolver or a rifle
