Interesting article, and he may be right. However, as it says in one of the updates below the article, it would be better if we had the full context for Romney's quote. It's a little unfair to judge Obama based on everything he said but to only cherry pick a short part of Romney's quote.

There's no "we need to convince these people" - like Obama said. - it's "them" and "us", in fact he expressly ruled convincing them out: "[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives." this is completely in line with what Ryan & the conservative echo chamber has been preaching for the last 4 years +.

The other difference between Obama and Romney's remarks is that Romney's is demonstrably false and misleading. Obama's is far more subjective.

The Obama campaign filmed voters listening to Mitt Romney's comments that 47 percent of Americans consider themselves "victims," and released a web video of their reactions Tuesday.

As a "victim" of some perceived injustice you actually sued the government to get more services that you felt "entitled" to and that you are "dependent" on. Education services would fall under the "you-name-it" entitlement.
