To this day, Britons don't think what they have done was bad. Persians don't think so. Arabs/Muslims don't think so. Even some Germans ache for the good old days of the Fuhrer, though a tiny minority. They cherish the "good ol days". Generally speaking, it's hard to get through to people who were born and grew up on the side of imperialism. I have Iranian friends who say they miss the Shah, glorifying the best things he did and ignoring his crimes (though his crimes pale in comparison to the current crop). I hear all the time from Arabs and Muslims about the great days of the Islamic empire, ignoring the atrocities and the corruption involved. A name change is sufficient. While imperialism is considered a derogatory term in our time, it was not a few decades ago. In a few decades, "foreign interests" will be a dirty word and the new word will be the justification for why it's different this time. For bigots, a name change is enough to convince them that their imperialism is different, it's for the good of the people. Sad. At the same time, it's difficult to blame someone who can't see the monster from within the monster's belly. What's shocking is when you have a 30+ yr old well-travelled of mixed race from the more liberal western Europe trained in law with little if any religious beliefs thinking this way. It really makes you lose hope in progress. I'm talking about Geert Wilders of course.
Ok back on topic as per your posts. Let's post Quran verse numbers, attach it to the interpretation that suits us most excluding the actual verses, and challenge each other to prove subjective interpretations wrong even if they are only vaguely related to the topic of Muslims getting offended. Phew. Thank God for the selective thread police.
Mathloom, some of your attacks against ATW are getting really low and personal. Please stick to the topic at hand instead of resorting to baseless insults of "Nazi Germany" and "white's are masters of genocide" when you are unable to argue using logic. ATW might push topics that aren't PC, but his arguments are always based around facts and not petty insults. You're only perpetuating the stereotype that Muslims are too defensive to engage in civil discourse, and it's reminiscent of the Ayatollah Khomeini who pushed back his nation 5 centuries with the same Islamic arguments you copy and paste from other sources. This may be the D&D, but that doesn't mean you can stoop to levels of animalistic hate and denial. I didn't want it to come to this, but I will not hesitate to report you if you continue this immature and cheap behavior and pretend that's how all Muslims feel.
What's unfortunate is we have many exemplary muslims like dmc89 on this board who garner alot of respect for who they are and what they believe in. But then everyone else is quite bitter and vitriolic with hidden agenda's and it completely negates the trust and respect that the successful members of society build up. SMH.
Agreed - posters like dmc89, BrownBeast99, R0ckets03 and many others should not be lumped in with crazies like adeelsiddiqui, Hydhypedplaya and Mathloom.
Remember kiddies, it's best to judge an entire group based on the actions of a very small minority within that group. Sadly you've given up on reason, logic, and adopted a bigoted extremist attitude. Why would anyone do that? To just give up on reason is a sad state of affairs.
Like saying you came "very close" to wanting to see the Pope raped, tortured and killed because some priests (out of the entire group) committed terrible things?
You and your lists. So would you classify Brownbeast99, R0ckets03, and dmc89 as Islamists? Or is that title only given to the other three you mentioned? What differentiates an Islamist vs a non-Islamist? Also, you also tend to give terrorists that title.....so I am just curious in your line of thinking.
The word 'Islamist' wasn't used in either post...are you the one suggesting any of the above mentioned are 'Islamists'? If you are i would like to know what you believe differentiates an Islamist vs a non-Islamist? I am just curious in your line of thinking. Your post is full of fail, but it did make Stephen Hawking smile.... ..."ChrisBosh fail is funny"
