I went back and tried to listen to the videos without any bias, trying to make sure he wasn't being misquoted or that he wasn't just saying things awkwardly again. No, this man believes that every person who receives government assistance is a lazy good for nothing who just wants a hand out. What's more, he could care less. Can't wait for someone to try to defend this.
I hope we can here the rest of Mitt's little talk at his fund raiser. It is still shocking to hear how these elitists think. So much for the Mr. Nice Guy Moderate. Too bad for the elitists that Mitt doesn't have any of the ordinary guy you would like to have a beer with act. Mitt sounds like esteban or tallnover and bigtexx
Apparently there's more to come from these videos that hasn't been released yet. There's another ticking time bomb -- the release of his 2011 tax returns -- when he gets to remind the American people that he can't show them how he paid nothing in 2009.
Wow! Hard to believe that he could be that stupid. Too much. It's weird sitting back and watching a political train wreck in slow motion. Mitt the Twit!
This complete contempt for half of the country that he pretends to love reminds of someone. Wait..... It's coming to me. Oh yeah-
I assume they are waiting to get their GOP talking points, but I imagine they will agree with the sentiment, given their disdain for regular people.
Like some of you, I had to go back and watch the video again. Romney looks worse with repeated viewings. I can't believe that he said what he thinks out loud at a fundraiser in the middle of a campaign.
There are people who have said anyone who votes for Romney is a r****d. He will get close to 50% of the vote when he loses. So that contempt he has is apparently shared by many on the left as well, including people on this board.
Is Basso? Because that's who he said he reminded him of. I wasn't commenting on Romney's idiocy I was commenting on the contempt he was saying Basso has for half the country. Contempt for half the country is shared by most in the D&D who vote for the "other guy."
Fair enough, but when we've started comparing presidential candidates to basso---and the comparison isn't even contested... Cleanup on aisle 5.
This is why I was so skeptical. Incredible clumsiness by Mitt "Clayton" Romney. Can't wait to view these in a couple of hours when I get home from work.
The guy just has a knack for saying terrible things that make him seem out of touch. I'm not even surprised at this point. Normally, gaffe-wise, that wouldn't really weight that heavy on me, but it couldn't have happened to a better candidate issue-wise. On substance and style, Romney is off the plot.
Mitt is just so much fun. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5JuJ3P_a2hc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> FWIW, I put these in the "gaffe" category - I imagine if you listened to Obama fundraisers, you could get all sorts of choice quotes too (like clinging to guns/God/etc). But Mitt just has a way of saying things that sound really bad and are thus entertaining.
I disagree. This was not a poor choice of words, bad phrasing or a mistake. He expressed his true feelings that people who take government assistance are lazy good for nothings. That is not a silly slip up, this is a view into his true beliefs. I doubt you would hear anything comparable in an Obama fund raiser/rally. I've never heard the president spew disdain for half the population.
