Agree, I'm in Khartoum right now, and last night I was invited by total strangers to sit and eat with them. The thing is the extremists are really extreme.
The sad things about this photo... 1. It happened in my city and in my country ( Sydney, Australia) 2. The mother / woman is proudly taking a photo of her little darling holding a sign calling for people who have an opinion that differs from theirs to be beheaded. 3. People are actually finding ways to justify the actions of these violent morons. To the Muslim people who live their lives in harmony with the rest of the population, are hard working members of society...love you guys, stay as long as you like. To the imbeciles who shout 'down with the west', democracy is evil, sharia for Australia ( or whatever country they're in), kill / behead those that insult Islam or the prophet...etc Pack your bags, get on a boat, plane or swim to the nearest Islamic nation and live out the rest of your days there. You are giving the rest of your ummah a bad name. You don't like Australia or the west, good bye...no one is stopping you from going back to the nation you escaped from because of the same crap that you are trying to install in our land. You will not be missed. A man at the sydney riot said, 'it is shameful to use religion to justify violence'(sic), he was then set upon and assaulted by the practitioners of the Religion of Peace. In the USA you guys are 10 years behind us in Australia when it comes to th Islamic problems...( except in Deerborne Michigan.) we already have no go zones in Sydney that are 'Sharia controlled' by young Muslim thugs, at the urging of their Imam. There are drive by shootings every 4-5 days...by Muslim thugs in our streets. There was the cronulla riots, nightly bashings & Refugees from Islamic countries are gang raping our women for dressing provocatively...and you guys wonder why I'm passionate about this issue. Is it all Muslims...NO. But it's enough to make this nation view Muslims in a bad way. If you don't like the west there is 57 or so Muslim nations that you can go to and live under sharia...to bad there isn't any welfare to extort in most if not all of those countries.
Trolls get their validation by getting you to respond to them. Our 4 or 5 resident trolls get b****slapped everyday but they keep on posting. Only bother when it is entertaining for you. Don't bother if you thinking you are going to enlighten them, they don't care. They will be bad boys if that's the only way to get mommy's attention.
Welcome to Sydney Australia... JUST MISUNDERSTOOD BY US FILTHY POLYTHEIST INFIDELS... In Austrlia we've been overrun with extremists, you have the terrorist linked and terrorist supporters C.A.I.R (we have F.A.I.R.) using litigation jihad everytime a Muslim is 'discriminated' against, calling for hate crime investigations at every possible turn, but won't condem the actions of these thugs. It is the idiots in the above pictures that are giving the rest of the ummah a bad name.
All of what you say may be true, but the solution is the same regardless. The need is economic and better education. When people have nothing they take stupid risks.

Realistically, the more they catch up with the modern world, the more they will abandon their religion. We've already seen this in places like Baku and Istanbul. The lack of respect for them, however, comes from how they carry themselves and who they are. Even in prosperous Muslim nations like Bahrain, Qatar, UAE (due to oil, of course) the kids of wealthy parents spend their friday nights giving long, creepy stares to girls. Verbal communication is nonexistent. Everything they do is tacky and cheap. They lack any semblance of social intelligence, and those who immigrate overseas to the West aren't much better. They're very fearful and this insecurity results in overaggressive, degenerative behavior. Perhaps it's due to centuries of inbreeding, but it will take 2 generations of living in the West to replace these fundamental flaws on how they live life. Americans who adopt Islam are a different story, they are secure and educated enough to take the best aspects of it and use it to strengthen them and the people around them in a positive way. It's obvious the "rules" and "regulations" of all religions are tools used to control the masses, but faith itself is a very strong tool and there's nothing wrong with using it to empower yourself in a positive manner. My issue is when it is used as a crutch to replace rational thought. What's encouraging for me is that beautiful Muslim women in the west see how archaic their religion is and are slowly becoming agnostic, or part time Muslims. The ones in Islamic nations are taking on Western trends and dusting how they are supposed to act under the rug. I myself have convinced a large number of women to live life in a manner that is best for them, with their own moral codes and dignity, rather than cave in to what was indoctrinated into them by society and before they could fully develop a rational thought process. Of course, we make love and don't marry afterwards, but it's natural for them to be attracted to me and happiness doesn't need a title. The pinnacle of intimacy is to be celebrated, not caged.
That certainly is part of the solution but I there are some ideological and philosophical issues that need to be addressed first. Egypt under Mubarak did have a growing economy and obviously the Emirates have had wealthy economies. That wealth though is very unequal and as the Arab Spring showed there is anger and a desire to change that. The problem that I see though is that the promise of the Arab Spring is getting derailed by things like the spate of anti-Western protests and the clash between conservative Islamist groups and more moderate forces. This is similar to the rise of Arab Nationalism where development towards a civil society ultimately got squandered in wars with Israel and corruption.
What about Muslims that live in 1st world countries like USA or Germany or UK? Muslims in these countries don't seem to follow these so called "archaic" beliefs you are referring to. Why do you think there is a difference?
Had I been an American, I would be ashamed of this ungrateful fellow citizen. But, yeah. It is shameful, American or not.
Make a movie about Jesus being a gay, barbaric, rapist who kills any and everyone and you will have a lot of angry Christians. Look how much support Chick-fil-A received after the whole gay thing. Religious people stick up for their religion because if they don't no one else will. Most know who controls the media controls the minds of the masses. This guy received $5,000,000 in support to make this icky film and put his name on it. The media keeps bringing it up and Muslims react to it, just like any religion would. The problem is they are doing this to get a reaction. They want to make them look bad. “Innocence of Muslims” video allowing Obama media to control the truth - Judi McLeod http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/49559 Anti-Islam YouTube video, 'Innocence of Muslims', sparks violent protests Read more: http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/natio...muslims-sparks-violent-protests#ixzz26fHoEbOy I don't blame Google for not listening to the White House and taking it down. I believe in freedom of speech and I don't want this to set a bad precedent. The Jews don't want Obama. They want more wars and Romney will give them that. The VP can't do ****, his job is to replace the president if he dies. Obama knows that. You guys carry on now. Believe what you want.
There are plenty of movies criticizing/mocking Jesus/Christianity. As much as you say the reaction would be the same, it simply isn't. Sadly, there is a minority of Muslims in Germany that definitely follows these archaic beliefs and is rather violent. And even among the so-called moderates, there is a significant percentage with a hostile attitude toward the country they live in, the USA and the West and non-believers in general. The following data is from 2006, but the trend has been "negative" (going away from integration) since then. Note the difference between perception of Europeans being hostile and actually having had a bad personal experience (whatever that would be). Also, notice that Islam is a lot more all-encompassing (and coming before nationality) for most Muslims in Europe, compared to Christians. The majority of Muslims in Germany does not want to blend into society - they want to be distinct. On the other hand, they identify with their religion before the country they live in. And this is a trend that is getting stronger (which, from a German's perspective, means they are going away from integration). A newer study (observation: the line of argumentation in the discussion in Germany is very similar to the one here on the forum: the leftists say it's basically everyone's fault but the Muslims' whereas the conservatives are very skeptical of some Muslims' willingness to integrate) is cited in this article (which is rather balanced, I find (Spiegel is a leftist magazine)): Study Hints that Mutual Suspicion Is Slowing Integration A new integration study released on Thursday has triggered yet another debate about the role of Islam in Germany. The report found that a surprising number of non-German Muslims are skeptical about integrating into society. But the country's own doubts about immigration may have muddied the data. Hardly a year goes by without the eruption of yet another chapter in Germany's ongoing debate about integration. Do immigrants feel at home in Germany? Are they willing to identify with and become part of the culture? And, most pressing, do Muslims fit in or are they more inclined to view German and Western culture with deep skepticism? This year's discussion was kicked off on Thursday with the publication of a study carried out by Germany's Interior Ministry, which sought to gauge how Muslims living in the country view German culture and their attitudes to integration. The result? A significant minority encompassing 20 percent of Muslims in the country are skeptical when it comes to integration. Perhaps more concerning, among Muslims in the age group between 14 and 32, "there exists a subgroup that could be described as 'strictly religious' with strong antipathy to the West, a tendential acceptance of violence and no willingness to integrate,'" the study says. Among Muslims with German citizenship, this group encompasses 15 percent, among non-citizens, it is 24 percent. "Germany respects the origins and cultural identities of its immigrants," Interior Minister Hans-Peter Friedrich said in a statement accompanying the study. "But we do not accept the import of authoritarian, anti-democratic and fanatically religious views. Those who reject freedom and democracy have no future here." Intense Reaction The study's findings are based on telephone interviews with 700 Muslims in Germany, including both citizens and non-citizens. In addition, researchers conducted group interviews with young Muslims, analyzed Internet forums and evaluated televized news reports. According to Germany's Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, there are an estimated 4 million Muslims in the country, roughly half of whom have German citizenship. Initial reactions, perhaps predictably, have been intense. Hans-Peter Uhl, the parliamentary spokesman on domestic policy for Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives, called the study "horrifying" in comments to the daily Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung. "This unwillingness to integrate doesn't necessarily, but can represent a catalyst for religious fanaticism and terror," he told the paper. Others, however, are taking a different view of the study. "I find it surprising that the Interior Ministry has once again used taxpayer money to finance a study that creates headlines but no insights," said Serkan Tören, an integration expert for the business-friendly Free Democrats, Merkel's junior coalition partner. Volker Beck of the Green Party went even further. Alleging that Interior Minister Friedrich himself had no interest in integration, Beck said "those who view Muslims solely in light of the danger they might pose and otherwise constantly tell them that they aren't a part of our society shouldn't be surprised when that leads to defensiveness." Beck's comments were likely in reference to the study's finding that Muslims in Germany feel that they as a group are often seen as terrorists, and that society at large often makes an "overly hasty connection between Islam and terrorism." Not Entirely Comfortable with Islam The study also found that 78 percent of Muslims with German citizenship have a positive attitude toward integration, while slightly more than half of those without German citizenship do as well. Still, it has proven challenging in Germany in the past to interpret the results of similar integration studies, partially due to the hand-wringing the subject tends to generate in a country that has never been entirely comfortable with immigration or Islam. Although Germany doesn't have the kind of populist, anti-Islam parties that enjoy significant support among many of its neighbors, the heated debate sparked by a Muslim-critical book written by former German central bank official Thilo Sarrazin in 2010 was indicative of just how fraught the issue has become. In the book, Sarrazin wrote about -- from his perspective -- the dangers that immigration poses to Germany, arguing that migration from Turkey was dumbing the country down. Despite the outcry against the book, it quickly became apparent that many in the country agreed with him. Political leaders in Germany have likewise not always welcomed immigration, particularly Muslim immigration, with open arms. For years the issue has been popular among -- primarily conservative -- political candidates. Even Friedrich himself inflamed the debate shortly after entering office last summer. "That Islam is part of Germany is a fact that cannot be proven by history," he said, a comment that launched yet another integration debate. The Sarrazin Effect But such sentiments play well in Germany. A highly publicized study released in 2010 by the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung found that 58 percent of Germans felt that the practice of Islam in Germany should be "significantly curtailed" -- in eastern Germany, that number was 75.7 percent. Immigrants in Germany, of course, are not deaf to such debates. Indeed, the study released on Thursday noted itself that the debate over Sarrazin's book may have had a direct influence on the results. The telephone interviews upon which the report's conclusions are based were performed both before and after the peak of the debate over Sarrazin's book. The study notes that answers given by non-German Muslims prior to and following the Sarrazin debate show "meaningful statistical variations." One can assume that the debate may have had an "undesirable effect," the study reads. "The non-German Muslims appear to have felt that that they were further shut out of majority society and thus reacted with more intense prejudice and stronger cultural demarcation." http://www.spiegel.de/international...uspicion-is-slowing-integration-a-818666.html
KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghan security forces killed six service members from the American-led military coalition in a pair of attacks in southern Afghanistan this weekend, pushing the number of international troops killed by Afghan forces in a single year past 50 for the first time. This year’s toll from what are known as insider or green-on-blue attacks — green being American military parlance for indigenous forces, blue for its own — has become one of the most visible signs of the challenges faced by the NATO-led coalition as it nears the end of its role in Afghanistan’s war. and A day earlier, two British soldiers were killed in Helmand Province. The coalition said the attacker was a member of the Afghan Local Police, a village militia force that was created and is largely being trained by allied Special Forces to augment the Afghan army and police. International troops at the scene quickly opened fire on the attacker, killing him, the coalition said. Britain’s Defense Ministry later said both of the dead soldiers were British, and that they were killed at a local police checkpoint in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand. The six deaths brought to 51 the number of coalition service members killed this year in insider attacks. The toll has already well exceeded last year’s total of 35 killed in such violence. Link
White males can not be trusted. They might be serial killers. Almost all serial killers have been white. There have been exceptions, but the majority are white males. We have John Wayne Gasy, Jeffery Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Charles Albright, Joe Ball, Robert Berdella, David Berkowitz, David Carpenter, and the list goes on and on. It's not just the poor and uneducated whites either. White males simply can not be trusted. I guess not trusting everyone in a group because of the actions of a very small minority within that group is the way to do things.
