The only good thing about NBA Live 13 is the pricetag and the faces. Yeah, I agree. Live sucks. Can't believe EA with their mountains of money can't make a decent basketball game.
I always think NBA has better presentation but that's simply because they purchased the rights to ESPN's broadcasting presentation. 2K has to just make up their own. But that makes it even more embarrassing for EA Sports.
I hope they bring back all the legend teams, as well as more legends to focus on! Barkley and Miller are of course unavailable, sadly. Hopefully that will change soon with Miller's induction. Some older guys, like Schayes or Pettit should get some love. Dantley and Hayes would be good too.
Next 3 ratings. Eric Gordon: 85 overall Aaron Brooks: 77 overall Manu Ginobili: 86 overall Check out this promo, it's 2012 USA team vs Dream Team and it's absolutely sick. Chris Manning, a guy who works for 2k, tweeted out something about a new mode called myTeam. He wouldn't give any details, but said that we would find out soon enough. Sounds like it will be something similar to the Ultimate Team Card game thing in Madden, perhaps. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I am now, officially, in LOVE with <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23NBA2K13">#NBA2K13</a>'s MyTEAM mode. <3</p>— Chris Manning (@LD2k) <a href="https://twitter.com/LD2k/status/246763841319493633" data-datetime="2012-09-15T00:14:19+00:00">September 15, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
He's a fast PG with a great 3 point shot and good finishing around the basket. He should be around a 77. He should be terrible defensively and have mediocre passing/offensive awareness (for a PG). His lack of rebounding and defense shouldn't impact his rating as a PG too heavily since it isn't really that important (PG is usually regarded as least important position defensively)
Yeah, but if I remember it right, Brooks was at 70 on 2k11. Doesn't make sense that he would grow that much after doing absolutely nothing last season.
You have to keep in mind that new ratings are added and some existing ratings are removed, not only that but they might tweak the formula each and every game. He might be a 77, but you're looking at it in the absolute, we don't know what other players ratings are so relatively he might be in the right place and 2K's formula just reduces the gap between players compared to last year.
I hope there won't be dudes who end up going up to 90 overall that shouldn't be after a few years bc of potential. Brandon Jennings and Step Curry, those dudes always end up like mid 90 overalls. Also hope they fix the trading and and signing. I always turn off trading bc the teams are r****ded. But, they end up proving there is no stopping r****d when they sign a guy like CP3 to play in Washington when they already have Wall. Cavs always sign CP3 also even though they have Kyrie. Melo always declines his player option and goes and signs with some team like the Bucks or Pistons. Al Jefferson always resigns in Utah for like a billion dollars, its insane(but i usually allow that since it handicaps Utah). I want to see realistic signings where stars are all trying to get together in bigger cities.
I usually have to go through and change a lot of players potential ratings. Jonny Flynn always ends up at like 80 which is dumb since he sucks so I go in and change it to like 69 so he doesn't have any trade value. It takes a while to do that for everyone but it's worth it if you like association mode.
DUDE, i forgot about that scrub! Him and T-Will, scrubs like that always ending up borderline all stars
Definitely a good idea, but it still is kind of ridiculous that you have to do that yourself. The game should just be more realistic, and hopefully they fixed it.
