All these signings... Billups, Butler, Hill, Odom, Crawford, and now Barnes do nothing for this team if they are not able to develop Blake Griffin into the dominant big man he should be. You have the best PG in the league in CP3. You need to have someone else for him to play off of. Griffin is supposed to be the Malone to his Stockton, Amare to his Nash, etc. So far, Blake is exciting, and can still put up nice numbers, but he's not on the level that those guys were in their prime just yet. Until Griffin becomes that guy, or they get somebody else to be that guy for Chris Paul, then the surrounding pieces are just pieces. Not sure what the point is of having any of them without that dominant post player to play with CP3.
Hes a nice addition. Billups and Grant Hill are super old and Barnes is a solid player to hide to come in if those guys get hurt. Clippers improved their SG/SF defense quite a bit this year, they got lit up quite a bit in that area last year. Their 3 point shooting has gotten worse though (lost Foye, Young and Mo Williams) and no decent defensive big man. Blake is gonna play 35 to 37 mins a game at PF so that means Lamar plays about 12 and then 5-10 at Center (where he'll get destroyed). Lots of solid veteran names but they dont fit.
Clippers are one of the deepest teams in the NBA if not the deepest atm. This helps them. Barnes is a scumbag but he is a serviceable and frankly decent backup SF.
http://ethnicelebs.com/matt-barnes It doesn't say that Barnes is Mexican.......but there are black mexicans you know.
