None of these guys led their teams in targets, but Fleener had 10, while the others had 6 or 7. Cook has the highest upside, but he probably is the least "skilled" I guess you could say in playing the position. Olsen and Rudolph are #2 options now, but Lafell and Simpson will be getting bigger shares sooner than later. Gonzalez could probably finish top 7-8 non ppr in this new spread offense. Pitta too, while Cameron toys with the idea of running an offense through Flacco instead of Rice.

I think you could be overplaying one team's circumstance while underplaying the other. Two endzone PI calls gave Bush TDs that could have been Cutler's. St Louis has a new hard nosed head coach, but so does Indy, and Indy picked up the better free agent CB. Both teams were so bad against the run last year that it likely skewed pass numbers (both were top 10 in points allowed). And Justin King may have been the worst CB last year.

Not elite when taking 7 step drops behind an OL that David Carr would feel sorry for. I'm not saying pick Cutler, just don't discount him in what should be a good ol' fashioned NFC North shootout.

Let Richardson show you he's ready on the bench, you've got ppr goodness in Dexter or Cobb. McCluster because he's Cassel's safety valve, Cobb because he's on the rise, getting a portion of Jenning's targets, and seems to be a favorite target for Rodgers when the defense can create pressure.

Probably only debatable if it's a ppr league because that changes Sproles value. Cutler's best projections are likely even with Eli's dropping closer to his career averages, and their weapons are close to a wash too. Young and Jones will flash more than Helu, but all 3 are guys who'll give you headaches about whether or not to flex them week by week.

Fitz is great, but has been bogged down a bit since Warner retired. He still produces, but it is nowhere near the weekly monster games he would put up a few years ago.

Now when Kolb came into the game late last week he targeted Fitzgerald several times on the final drive. If he does that consistently, Fitzgerald could climb up to elite WR1 value again.

What to do with Jennings... I guess we'll know more later today. Good thing it's the first game of the week and not a monday night game in question.

If he's out, my flex options are kinda limited this early in the season, you'll see why.
Tamme, Britt, Mendenhall, Stephen Hill, Tate. Torrey will be replacing Jennings.

Come mid season, my flex options might be legit if Britt and/or Mend come back full strength. But right now, any thoughts on my flex? Britt is going to see some action, but it's unclear how well he'll do and exactly how much action (reports say 15-25 snaps). I would play Hill, but he's going against Pit. Tamme might be a good option againt Atl.

Contrary to popular belief, it is usually better to play a WR against Pittsburgh because they usually force teams to abandon the run.

However, you must also consider Sanchez might stink it up something fierce.

Out of your other options, it seems like Tamme is the only other realistic option as he's really the only guy who is getting the majority of offensive snaps.

Mendenhall is doubtful to play, Britt is supposedly going to get limited snaps, Tate is a backup, etc.

At this point I'd say you go with either Hill or Tamme. Hill has the bigger upside but Tamme seems like a safer bet to at least produce decent numbers.

What should I do? Any bold starts I should make? I was able to pick up both Alfred Morris and Ogletree, not sure if they're quite playable yet. Maybe Morris.

Fitz had a great year last year with the disasters at QB. 2nd highest yardage total of his career. Less catches and TDs though from the Warner days.

Bro... why you comparing TE's to WR's? There is only 1TE that might consistently lead his team in targets. Maybe 4 in the history of the NFL.

Yeah I didn't know what to do with Jennings either so I just traded him.

Cutler wasn't elite in Denver either. A lot like Flacco, I always expect more than I get. I love Brandon Marshall this year with Cutler, and it definitely boosts Cutler's overall value, I'm just going to need to see it for more than one week to switch from a guy that threw 40TDs a year ago.

    I'd go Morris over Lynch.

And I'd go Percy over Steve Smith, ONLY if Smith is not a full go.

I would suggest getting Percy Harvin in your lineup, he's the playmaker in the Vikings offense with Simpson still out due to suspension, and the matchup versus Indy is tantalizing.

Other than that, I'd say continue to play your starters and monitor any trends that suggest replacement.

Cutler wasn't elite in Denver, but he was damn good. You give him legit receiving threats and an offensive line and he'll be a lower tier QB1. I wouldn't be shocked to see him throw for 4200 yards and 32 TDs this year. When I took a risk on taking Michael Vick in most of my fantasy leagues this year (A QB of that caliber slipping to the 5th and 6th rounds), I wanted to make sure I had a high upside backup with QB1 potential so I went with either Cutler or RG3 as my backup plan. I wanted guys who I wouldn't hesitate to have in my lineup should Vick stink it up or get injured.

Chris Liss today wrote an article in which he claims Stafford isn't a "great" NFL QB and he expects a regression in his numbers. I think thats a fair assessment. It is hard to envision Stafford putting up those kind of numbers again. 85% of those would still make him a viable QB1.

Although I think Stafford is a pretty good QB with a rifle arm, I think the lack of running options in Detroit tend to inflate his stats. I think he's still going to get numbers because of the system, but if he were on another team I wouldn't even consider taking him in the 2nd round.

Just started Cutler over Stafford. Hope I don't regret it.

I would caution trying to sell low on any player, especially Welker. New England's gameplan was to try and establish Ridley and ride Hernandez and Gronk against the Titans. They did both of those things well and the receivers weren't very involved.

Although I don't think Welker will have a WR1 type season, you should be careful trying to dump him too quickly. Remember, don't panic after Week 1.

Here is a Week 2 dilemma that shows how the Thursday Night game is throwing another wrench into the fantasy machinery.

I don't know if Pierre Garcon is going to play Sunday, and I have Alshon Jeffery stashed on my bench with a great chance to beast tonight against GB. Of course he's only had one game so far, isn't technically getting all the starting WR snaps and put up good numbers against a shoddy Colts defense.

Jeffery only received 5 targets, but made the most of his chances. The Bears have a lot of mouths to feed, so if I decide to start him and the game doesn't deliver the offense fireworks it is supposed to, Jeffery could conceivably put up a dud.

Apparently Garcon didn't practice today which isn't a good sign. Although his x-rays were negative and he's been claiming on twitter that he's fine and is ready to go. I'm taking a more measured approach

If I don't play Jeffery and decide to take my chances on Garcon, and he is ruled out, then I'll be stuck with having to choose from Titus Young, Ryan Williams or Jacquizz Rodgers (Standard League) for my Flex position.

    Decisions, decisions.

Any suggestion on who I should start him over? Whoever ends up being less injured between Smith and Lynch?

    Romo.

For me, I like to see a couple solid games from rookies before they get the start. If Romo sucked last week, it would be a different story. But, he played well so no reason to bench him.

If RGIII has another solid game this week, then you can consider starting him.

I like the chances of Garcon playing more so than I like the chances of Jeffery being a monster tonight. I don't hate Young as the fallback.
