Sprint LTE is spotty, and I understand that its getting better as time progresses but you'll be on Sprint's dial up like 3g network when not on LTE. Plus, the facts right now is that Sprint LTE is on the 1900mhz band. The signal quality and penetration is not even comparable to AT&t and Verizon. Then again, they are the cheapest option for the iPhone, offer unlimited data, and their signal quality for voice and text is pretty good (plus you get free voice roaming on Verizon). You get what you pay for though. Oh, and I know someone is going to reply with some "network vision" crap. Please let me know how that works out if and when it happens.
couldn't have said it better. i just spend 45 minutes setting up citrix reciever for doctors earlier..and it's cool to see how effortlessly they use their ipad. even the most computer illiterate ones looked like IT folks..
My weekly IT questions have gone down to zero from the first day I got my mom an IPad. That's why people like these things, frustration free usability.
I don't see whats so hard about android. I just use it for regular stuff like apps, email, and surfing. Then again the only androids I've used are the newest ones.
eh.. I have the touchpad with ICS..and no thanks. I don't know what it is...it's missing this intuitive factor.
One example is simple navigation within apps. If I am in a text message thread and I press back, sometimes it takes me back to the home screen, and sometimes it takes me to a list of all my text threads. This can be annoying to the user. The way to actually go back to the thread list would be to press Menu -> More -> All Threads. 3 separate clicks to go back one step. On the iPhone, there's a button on the screen that clearly takes me back to that place. I don't have to fumble around in a menu. And if I want to go to the home screen, there's a button which clearly does that. ICS and JB have definitely created a simpler and cleaner interface though.
so the ipad mini rumors were false? i don't see what price point they can release it at if even an ipod touch is 299 and the ipad is 499.
When I've used other people's Android I've found even general navigating confusing, and I'm more than capable from a tech perspective. It could be the multiple years of using iOS stuff... BUT I recall that being extremely intuitive from the get-go, and general user experience confirms that. That doesn't mean Android can't also be easy to use, just not immediately intuitive and to the general population not ever as "simple" Not a deal breaker, just a point
The ipad nano already looked like that, except it was smaller. I remember when the first Nokia windows phone came out, people said it looked like a nano.
Well I started off with vanilla android 4.0 and 4.1 and never used anything else. Maybe thats why its easier for me.
Please don't take this the wrong way. But if so difficult, or unituitive how do millions of kids under the age of 10, first pick up and android phone and are able to navigate it? I swear to god, my 2 year old daughter knows how to navigate to just about everything on our phones. She can navigate to netflix, pick movies, go to pictures, play movies, and even go to the app store and download kids apps.
