This explains Romney's panic desperation mode since the DNC, which I believe will further sink his standing with true independents. At this rate, he won't be within striking distance late in the game when I expect momentum to swing his way. Romney is gashing himself and running at full speed into brick walls right now. He needs to sit down, screw his head back on and come back to his senses.

This. Huntsman is the one Republican that I might have actually considered favoring over Obama. Good head on his shoulders. Romney is in this campaign for only one person: himself.
It's becoming very obvious why no big republicans were willing to fully endorse Mitt without a qualifying statement. The country is getting a clearer picture of what kind of person he is and Obama is pulling away.
The Executive Office makes less impact for them than The House anyway. The leadership really only cares about tax and business issues.
