StarCraft 2, the GOAT game, must get its own thread

Hey, I didn't think of that. I knew that double-tapping the hotkey moves the camera to that unit, but I didn't think about it for going back to my base. Still, I'd have to get used to doing it, then finding a worker to build it and placing the structure promptly.

Should I have a worker hotkeyed, too? Just as my builder worker for emergencies or something?

 

That seems like a good idea, then you can just use hotkeys to tell him to build a pylon and then you can just click an open place in your base.

I think the double tap saves a lot of time though. Before I realized the double-tap hotkey, I wasted a lot of time panning the camera back to my base to do larva spawns.

 

Everyone suggests you can hotkey the quests and so larva spawns via minimap... I haven't tried it since I'm focusing on other things, but it seems you could avoid going to your base entirely.

anyone have the game crash on you? booted up the game today. once i entered a game my screen flicks with white/pinkish lines then completely black and cant see anything. the game doesnt crash and as i try to ctrl alt delete to exit out of the game, my monitor will just stay blank or flicker back on for a second.

no idea why its doing this, display is fine, when doing anything else, but once the game is up and running run into problems. just started happening today...

 

nope never happened to me. the only glitch i have ever had was when i start a game i cant chat with allies. and if i try to click on the mini map to go that area on the main screen it does one of those alerts (to alert your allies of the enemy or anything else) and of course your allies are asking what, what do you want me to look at. and i cant tell them. pretty funny, its happened maybe 3 times or so, and i just restart the game and it fixes it.

 

That's weird. I never had any problems with Starcraft 2... that reminds me... I don't know if this is relevant to your problem, but I've heard this game fries your graphics card because of a glitch in coding or something of that sort...

 

The competition is really heating up on SC2 it seems (and I've gotten worse). When the game first came out I was kind of obsess AVERAGED 4 hrs a day on it. As life and time goes on, the luster wore off and I've barely played the past month. After deciding to go at it again for the week of vacation I realized something.

1) Players still playing are much better, I'm assuming people both improved and the really crappy one's start dropping out.

2) I've gotten worse. I was in platinum at the beginning of the month, and pulling a .500 win percentage against platinum and gold players (not fighting diamonds which means I was on the lower end of platinum) but I can't seem to get wins against bronzes sometimes lately.

3) I can't wait for the expansion pack I'm looking to lose in different more spectacular fashion.

 

Another year and half for Heart of the Swarm I think

 

Which sucks because I am a zerg player.... need more options

 

so my computer has been out of commission for awhile, just got it back up and going after installing a new mobo, for some reason though i cant hop on SC2, fired up SC2, and it started downloading updates, after it finished was able to log in. i x'ed out though, and now i'm trying to get back on, and the loading screen pops up but when it goes to go to the login in screen SC2 just shuts down. looking for answers online none seem to be helping. anyone have any idea?

 

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn't work, maybe a file got corrupted if you didn't exit the game correctly. If it was a Steam game, I would tell you to verify the game cache, but I don't know if SC2 has a similar function.

 

already tried that, said nothing was wrong.

 

so i went to uninstall/reinstall, well while its re-downloading, about 5% in it tells me there are numerous problems saving data. that sound like maybe something wrong with my hard drive? maybe one of the sectors? maybe i should run a CHKDSK? see if something comes up about my hard drive?

 

I'm lookin to sell my collector's edition if anyone interested.. I've only open the game disc and the usb stick, everything is is still in the shrink wrap...

 

so way way way major bump...

anyone still playing? i'm just now getting back into it after my computer was out of commission for awhile, along with the expansion coming out soon. figured i'd get back to playing some. of course i'm awful.

anyone want to help a newb out?
