Borderlands was a surprise hit, so there's a lot of hype surrounding it's sequel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderlands_2 http://www.borderlands2.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeV3-Adxcws Obligatory Reddit forum. http://www.reddit.com/r/Borderlands/ 3rd party skill calculator http://87bazillion.com/skillcalculator/
There is the official skill calculator now, but this one looks better since you can easily share builds. Here's my first go: Siren Commando Gunzerker Assassin I definitely plan to play everyone, but I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Siren first and Assassin last. I was a huge fan of the first game, and this one looks to be even better. Can't wait until next week. I'm sure I'll be wasting countless hours on it.

Can one still re-spec at will for relatively cheap? I'm hoping so. Hate the idea of having to re-play a whole character because a skill I picked turned out to be not that effective.
I enjoyed the heck out of Borderlands, and almost finished all of the extra content as well. Will definitely be getting the new one! If you never tried it, go for it, you can pick up the original cheap now, and it is absolutely worth it.
Definitely picking it up. Debating on whether I'm getting it for Xbox or PC. On the one hand; it'll be a lot more fun for me to play on PC -- on the other I won't be able to play with my fiancee....
There's definitely still re-spec. They've said that they tried to balance the cost so that it's not too much to be really painful, but not so little that you'll be doing it all the time. Cost will increase the higher the level you are. I'm a bit disappointed that apparently the multiplayer loot will still be a free-for-all. Why they decided to not go the Diablo 3 route and let each person only see their own loot is kinda beyond me. Just means people will be arguing and debating over who gets the best guns that drop.
I know its silly, but in a way I liked sharing loot. When I played D3 with friends I felt some of the magic was gone. Granted if you play with idiots they'll probably jack the loot and run but, there was definitely something lost in translation there.
Bought it. Been playing the 1st again. I never beat all the DLC, so trying to do that while getting back in the feel of the game.
Unless you buy a console version, which is supposed to have split screen play with the option to play online at the same time. Didn't play the first one, but it does look interesting. The problem is I have Guild Wars 2 now, Torchlight 2 coming at the end of the month, and the updated re-release of Baldurs Gate next week, along with Natural Selection 2 on the "looks interesting, if I just had more time to play" list.
Let's see more builds! Here is my crappy Siren build. http://talent.87bazillion.com/2/siren.php?550001500005050055500400000000
Sure...this is what I'm going to start with unless I feel like the assassin's melee ability is really overpowered. I like sniping. http://talent.87bazillion.com/2/assassin.php?550501505140000000002503013000 I doubt I'll try the other classes; but if I do: http://talent.87bazillion.com/2/commando.php?55200100005330310515150000000000
Consider taking Killer instead of Fast Hands. Or maybe not. I simply prefer talents that do two things instead of one, unless the one thing they do is really really awesome.
I don't like skills that are based off killing something with few exceptions. What happens when you fight one boss with a huge amount of hp? Plus the tick rate for those is short. You have to kill someone to get that bonus, meanwhile any time I reload my guns I'm getting it. As for crit%; it's already pretty high because of other skills, and I'll likely crit pretty often to begin with.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I played with my friends and shared loot all the time on D3. The difference was that we all knew what belonged to who in the first instance. I guess it hopefully won't make a huge difference. I'm only planning on playing with friends and no randoms anyway.
