Definitely go for the 5. You'll wan't LTE if you're one of those people that keeps their phone for 2+ years. $100 more for some better specs is probably worth it IMO.

I think that the iPhone 5 is in all likelihood another great product from Apple, but I think it may be getting to the point where they aren't doing themselves any favors with this whole 'Let's have a conference to make everyone stop what they're doing and get them all excited for us to drop the next big thing."

After the first few iPhones I think people's expectations are just too high.

Call me weird, but I still like the fact that the iPhone is not getting much bigger. I'm not a fan of all the bigger phones, so as long as they don't make it too big, I'm fine with it. I'm on the 4 and the 2 years is passed so I think I'll get the 5 to try and take advantage of Siri.

Snore... It will sell because idiots eat this crap up, but come on. Innovation my ass. The nokia has wireless charging with wireless connectivity to it's speakers, oh yeah, and it's actually running the acclaimed Windows Phone 8 OS. I actually get something new by going to it. The iPhone 5 is much more of an incremental upgrade at best. Heck, I think I'd go android before this. I guess I'm never going back to an iPhone. Sad.

At least apple has gone back to it's roots with this phone: an overpriced turd that looks good but drastically falls behind what current tech already does...

Obviously the Nano doesn't replace the Touch or iPhone since it doesn't run apps/games. But it absolutely has a place in the market. The previous generation seemed pointless to me - they abandoned the video playing gumstick design for what amounted to a touchscreen shuffle.

The new one is a nice versatile bridge between the shuffle (no video, workout only, no playlists, 2gb limit) and Touch. All you really give up is the apps.

Video, Playlists, 16gb, physical control buttons (THANK YOU), two thirds the size of touch and only a third of the weight, etc. You can easily run with this in your pocket or on your arm and can still use it for regular media play on flights or in the car.

Right now, I rock a shuffle for workouts and a Touch for media. This nano at the very least tempts me to get it and couple it with an iPad.

Nope. Previous Generation was price dropped to $199/16gb and $250/32gb. New Generation is $300/32gb, $400/64gb.

The Apple hate is so annoying.

I have a Samsung S3 now, but I can most definitely see that, even though Apple isnt inventing amazingly groundbreaking stuff every single year, they most definitely have a product that is more polished than any phone out there.

What do you mean? Any time I ask it a question besides the current weather or traffic, it just says "let me google that for you" instead of using one of my apps like Wiki or IMDb to get the info.

Yes, but can you wirelessly charge the new iphone 5? huh, can you? can you place it on a pad that itself is plugged into the wall instead of plugging it in yourself?!?! What about when you're in Starbucks and need that quick power charge? Will you be able to just throw that sucker down on the wireless charging station they have set-up!?

    :p:rolleyes:

At this point, ever product that is somewhat compelling is compelling to different people for different reasons. I'm not blown away by Apple anymore, but it is a solid polished product, good size, nice features, some more proprietary than others, and is in the ecosystem I'm a part of.

I'm admittedly a Google-fiend, and not a big fan of Apple in the past. But one key observation I've had:

I used to say: Apple products are cool, but overpriced. They just aren't for me. I feel restricted. But I see why people would buy them. Some cool stuff there.

I now say: Their products aren't all that cool anymore, still overpriced. I don't know why people would buy their stuff.

I can admit they used to be innovative, regardless of where/how they got their ideas. They pushed the competition and industry. Now, they are playing catch up it seems. I still can't believe it's still the first LTE iPhone. They are 6 phones in right?

Did they even announce anything besides the iPhone 5 today? Honestly, that's a big yawn. Apple fan or not.

Don't get it twisted, I want Apple to do cool stuff because it's best for the consumer, regardless if you buy Apple or not.

I don't hate apple, I'm disappointed in them. I don't see what is really new about this phone. It's vamped up a bit spec wise, but that's to keep with the market. I'm disappointed that the leader in phones isn't really pushing it anymore. If anything, I really want apple to succeed. Their success keeps other phone makers honest. It pushes HTC and Nokia to put out better phones, it pushes Android to be more and more feature rich, it lays the ground work for an OS like Windows Phone to emerge. Ultimately their success breeds competition. All apple has done here is go back to their corner and strengthen their hold on already brainwashed customers, they haven't enticed a new customer base with this product. That's not good for anyone but Apple and the carriers. It's most of all bad for the consumer.

I might get it. It is very comparable to the Android alternatives S3 and Razzr variations.

The Samsung S3 doesnt even have group texting...unless you get a third party app, which blows.

So yeah, Apple might not be monster innovators right now, but everything they do have is polished across the board.
