Concur... but will still be getting one. My iphone is 2.5 years old, and it would take another company - Microsoft, Google, whatever - coming out with something actually revolutionary to move me away from Apple at this point... just as it took something revolutionary to move me to Apple after the iphone came out.
iPhone 5 Battery life: Up to 8 hours talk time on 3G Up to 8 hours data on 3G Up to 8 hours data on LTE Up to 10 hours data on WiFi Up to 40 hours audio Up to 10 hours video Up to 225 hours on standby the iPhone 4s had this: Up to 8 hours talk time on 3G Up to 14 hours talk time on 2G Up to 6 hours data on 3G Up to 9 hours data on WiFi Up to 40 hours audio Up to 10 hours video Up to 200 hours on standby
Ok techies....help me out. My wife and I both have the 3GS and are satisfied with it. We are so-so on AT&T but our contract is up and I don't like being under contract. They just discontinued the 3GS, so is it worth signing up for another 2 years to move to the 4S ($99) or the 5 ($199)? Or it is best to wait another year on a new phone? TIA
Run while you can. Go to android. Iphone sucks. The new iphone 5 is not even comparable to samsung galaxy s3....
I would say just move up to the 5 if you can. If not 4S is still a significant upgrade plus you'll still get iOS 6.
I think the big win in the announcement today was the revamped nano. The previous generation stunk. This new one is an extremely nice JV version of the Touch (no apps). I've personally got stone cold zero interest in the iPhone. Get a Touch and you've got 95% of what makes the iPhone worthwhile. I'm extremely happy coupling that with my Droid Bionic. Big thumbs down to the new dock connector. I found this part curious.
http://www.droid-life.com/2012/09/12/chart-iphone-5-vs-galaxy-s3-vs-one-x-vs-razr-hd/ iPhone 5 SUCKSSSS!
When my brother went out to get the 4s the day it came out, there was literally no one in line to pick one up. There was a lot of hype behind the 4s so I don't know if it will be unavailable to you, but it depends on your location I suppose.
If you have the money, go with the iPhone 5 for sure. The next iteration will most likely be the iPhone 5s next year, which really won't be much of a major upgrade (just a faster processor, A6x chip?) and the iPhone 6 wont be out for another 2 years, just when your contract will end, so I would say go straight for the iPhone 5
The new nano is actually trash and doesnt make any sense. All of the online reviews are saying so. Why pay $149 for a nano when you can pay $199 for a touch? People have been pointing out that the nano is targeting the teenybooper generation. Thats it.
The $199 Ipod touch is the last generation not the new one that was just announced. It's a workout device and has a built in pedometer. I guess only teeny boppers work out? The new ipod touch starts at $299.
i find it amusing how people are so anti/pro apple. But yeah, the nano seems more of a working out/easily carrying device...not necessarily just for "teenyboppers"
