in all seriousness this is his 5th season in the NBA.. he's not going to get a whole lot better.. in fact his numbers have declined but mostly due to Memphis being really deep and playing 10 less mins per game...
With 35mpg he was averaging 18 pts and 4 rebs. Not really All Star numbers if you ask me. Can he replace Terry though? hmmm that is probably his ceiling.. border line all star at best and he should be fine to fill in the gap that Terry left.

Sounds like Morey talking about T-Will. At least T-Will was younger

Owner tells media newly acquired player is/will be better than he is?

Up Next: Coach "happy with the roster they have, expect to compete" in upcoming season

He has to say that. He's the one that overpaid for this bust. Sounds familiar.

Mayo's a fine player. Hits his threes, stays in front of his man on D, decent enough rebounder, good finisher in traffic. If he had the ability to blow past defenders, maybe he could be a star. But he doesn't.

That said, you play him 40 minutes a game and he'll give you 19/4/3 with better than average shooting percentages. Those are Mobley numbers. But it's not star-level production.

Mayo sucks because he's a chucker. His TS% the last couple years is barely over .500.

Eh. Athletic wings typically don't suddenly become crappy at age 23/24 without suffering a significant injury or gaining a ton of weight. The last two years he's been cast as an instant offense guy off the bench, and he's clearly not uncomfortable in that role. I think his first two seasons as a starter are more indicative of his true ability.

well, he got punched by Tony Allen 2 years ago, and has been playing like a headless chicken ever since. Maybe there's a connection!
