Judge Judy is a seriously embarrassing addiction in our house. We record it and watch it around dinner time.

Judy herself is pretty awesome, but as someone who follows the law and pays all their taxes, it can get somewhat infuriating at the shear number of people playing "the system".

The fun thing is when she catches them in their scams and calls them out on it.

with enough veggies in it yes. We can get 3-4 out of it actually, but I have two young girls so I thought 2-3 is more realistic. But even at 2 meals..thats $5 a meal for a family. The Point is there is plenty food you can make for little money if you don't mind cooking and will eat leftovers. A dinner with Rotisserie Chicken, Asparagus, and potatoes will cost you about $10 to make and will feed a family. 2 Happy meals at McDonalds is $7-8, plus 1 adult meal and your easily over $10.

I'm sure there are a few states who could use these federal funds to plug some funding shortfalls...

I wonder how many small towns two or three F35 jets could fund?

Golly, if only all of the world's problems could be solved based on one's own personal anecdotes!

The guy is a total loser and it is good Judge Judy is blasting him. HOWEVER, The title of the Thread is extremely isleading. OMG

How about: "Here is an example of how .1% or perhaps .01% of our tax money goes to."

It might cost 1% to be sure no student ever misuses the money they are supposed to use for rent, so it might be best to look at it as least it multiplies when he buys cheetos or whatever at the store. Perhaps it might be best to do some random prosecution to cut down on this type of abuse.

I don't know if the OP is just doing the typical Fox News style number which tells the brainwashed essentially. "Government is a total waste. Therefore we should cut taxes on Rupert Murdoch and the wealthy."

As an aside I doubt the guy could get the exta rent money in exas.

You can eat McDonald's when you don't have working appliances or all of your utilities on. Those kind of things do impact the poor. You can also have your kids eat McDonald's if you don't have time to cook (ie working 2-3 jobs).

You forgot to mention white women. Folks make the same type of mistake when they assume it's mainly minorities benefitting from welfare.

    Your absolutely right..

...but its still the middle class who benefit more, instead of the poor who really need it.

If that was the case, then poor people in other countries would be obese. It's the high amount of food stamps that is causing obesity. There are lazy welfare recipients offering grocery discounts on my food at Walmart. They will pay for my food with their Lonestar card, and I gave them half the bill. They receive more than enough money for their groceries and sell the rest. Before you say it's just a few guys at Walmart, I also knew neighborhood grocery store owner that exchanged cash for for 1/2 the Lonestar card value. What a waste of taxes.

Most people around our ages know nothing about being poor. Twenty years from now, everyone will know about it.

Poor people in some other countries don't have food. Poor people here have crap food, but still get to eat.

American excess causes obesity. Folks are obese acroess all income brackets. Even our homeless eat more than some in 3rd world countries.

Some welfare recipients are lazy and abusing the system. Some are not. I have no clue on the %'s but any system will have abusers.
