You make some valid points about Serena's status on the list of greatest female tennis players but then you just say **** like the above and it makes one smh.

Serena is one of my most hated tennis players on the men's or women's side.

I absolutely can not stand her. She's a poor sport, who can't take a loss.

I like her sister and always have, but Serena is just incredibly annoying. If she loses she always makes excuses and it's never about the other player being better than her that day. Her glare at the linesman that called foot fault on her, is part of the problem. She threatened another lines person who had called that on her in the past.

She's a horrible human being, but one of if not the greatest women's tennis player.

 

I was rooting for Sharapova. I can't stand Sharapova, but think Serena is worse. If a human being is a horrible human being, it doesn't matter what country they are from, I will not cheer for them.

I feel bad for Venus health issues because I actually like her. I wish she was the sister that wasn't plagued by her health issues and dominating right now. Unlike Serena Venus doesn't make excuses when she loses even though she has more valid reasons.

Venus also has the harder serve.

You're right that I don't know her personally. I'm an avid tennis fan, and love to play. What I know of her is probably a tiny percentage of the person she is.

I made that statement, knowing that it was a characterization based only on what I've seen of her in public. In public she comes off as a poor sport, who always makes excuses after losses, rather than just admitting that on that day her opponent was better. She's threatened tennis officials who were just doing their jobs, and carries herself in an undignified, and manner. She's not a gracious winner, but she certainly isn't ungracious when she wins, so she could be worse.

I made the leap to horrible person. I admit that it was a leap, but for the purposes of the internet conversation about her as a tennis player, I'm comfortable making that leap.

I've also admitted that she may well be the greatest female tennis player ever.
