We'll see, if the offensive line doesn't get it together you're right. He actually wasn't hit too much or viciously but the Ravens will be in town next week so I expect that to change, quick.

    He ain't gonna make it.

Based on the Redskins game, Drew Brees is in trouble too. He's more elusive and better at avoiding hits than Vick, but the Saints O-line was dominated and looked terrible.

Somebody should create a thread discussing the number of games key QBs will play this season.

I just said we'll see but if you couldn't tell with my previous post I don't feel confident about him making it through the next game let alone the season unscathed.

I still am not certain how good Manning is yet.

While he is still able to find the open man, it isn't like Tebow didn't get 300 yards on the same defense.

So, yes, he did look a lot better than I expected, but I am not convinced that Fox shouldn't deserve more credit than he is being given.

let's say it was possible. how many teams do you think would cut Matt Schaub to sign Peyton Manning considering what little anyone saw of Manning after the neck surgery?

After a terrible offensive start, my Bears really righted the ship.

This week vs another bad packers D should be interesting though.

Really wish Direct TV would include the Thrusday night games on the PS3 app.

Plus it would ruin team chemistry. I think one thing the Texans have is trust in the team, that they aren't going to get dumped out of the blue. Texans' management is polar opposite of the Rockets.

Yup. Manning or Tebow is a no brainer, any gm would take that risk.

I thought he took a few bad hits to start the game. I think it eventually got to him. Honestly Vick needs to start running more all his big hits are coming in the pocket. Only big hit he took while running was one he had to

The Steelers did not defend Manning at all like Tebow. They disrespected and dared Tebow to throw the ball. That was a fluke game.

Last night, they played Manning with respect and he was just too good. If he's healthy all 16 games and their running attack is decent, the Broncos should win the AFC West going away and probably end up a top 2 seed.

Not to disrespect Fox, but Manning went to the Broncos because they were willing to totally submit their offense to him. He is their offensive coordinator and it was on full display. Neither Kubiak nor Jim Harbaugh would do something like that. Manning chose a team that would turn over the keys.

Fair points, but I'm not certain how much of a fluke it was. Steeler pass defense is predicated upon quarterback pressure. Take that away vs. anyone and their defense as a whole turns inept.

Where is Jim Caldwell coaching right now?

He's the QB coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time. No doubt.

    Master of the pre-snap chess.

You just made a Skip Bayless argument, fail on so many accounts.

Just watch the game and you would understand how in control Manning was of the offense. Just the one sequence where he saw Polamalu trying to blitz, backed up and changed the call, Polamalu retreated and then tried to blitz again, and Manning backed up and changed the call again... before calling a TO b/c he didn't like the formation. So yes, this wasn't Peyton at his best b/c it took him a quarter and a half to get going, and he didn't get a lot of reps in either.

    Speaking of Bayless style...

I am glad you 100% agree with me.

I watched the game last night and a lot of the Steelers pass rush was negated by Manning's ability to adjust the blocking at the line. He is a master of reading blitzes and did several things to neutralize the Steelers rush. He repeatedly would change the play and bring Tamme from the slot position to the end of the line to help pick up Polamalu on the blitz. He changed routes and went hot to the quick slant several times as well. The 78 yard TD pass came on a hot route as well. While his arm strength has diminished a bit his ability to make plays based on what the defense gives him remains just as good. He will only get better as his timing with these receivers get better.

Tebow neutralized those blitzes just as easily by asking Jesus to go back in time and give Ryan Clark sickle cell!

Casserly thinks Peyton will be comeback player of the year and MVP of the league. Perhaps it's possible, but man, their schedule is so tough that I don't see them as a lock to win the AFC West at all. Most of the money has been on their under win total..what was it 10?
