jesus that was a fail, that is what I get for trying to post a picture on my touchpad... Need to look at the touchpad thread for the cm9... anywho... yeah, xbox failure rate was high(as my previous posts) in the beginning, now ps3 fail... so yeah.. I went to the texans game today, pardon my worthless posts...
PS3 failure rate is high? My PS3 is probably older than you. Been running for 6 years now. At least 1,000 hours of Warhawk alone on that sucker.
fanboy war? I got my for free when I bought a sony tv like 4 years ago, got a free game, use it only for br, and netflicks in my bedroom (which i fall asleep to and leave on all night like a boss). So yeah, I like xbox better, even though I had to ship one off in the coffin. My ps3 has never broken, I have no tips on how to repair it, where to repair it, or people with the people with the cognitive capacity to repair it. You win.
Im actually getting a software error on my ps3... I tried.to google the answer to fix it and yhought i had it but it didnt work... Any suggestions?
I had my PS3 fat break down a couple of years ago. Instead of paying sony to fix it, they had a deal where you can pay the same amount of money and you get a ps3 slim. I decided to go for the ps3 slim.
Glad I saw this thread. My PS3, which is one of the older, big models, has recently been acting up. When I flip the switch on in the back the light in front turns on red, as usual. I press the power button on front and it goes to green for a couple of seconds then I get a few beeps then light turns white then begins flashing/blinking red. Any clues to what the problem is?
My ps3 Ylod'ed about a month ago. Had some idiot fix it which lasted about 1 movie and 1 quarter into my nba 2k12 season. I just ordered some of the tools to repair it myself to see if I can do a better job at fixing it.
Exact same problem as mine. Try vacuuming the vents. Also, if you normally have it in an enclosed area take it out. Then make sure you stand it up right. If that doesn't fix it then you're in my boat. I think I'm taking it to this place - http://www.fixurgadget.com/our-location.htm - sometime this week. Bad news is we might not be able to recover the data.
Did it work out? I was able to get mine on for a bit using that trick but it gave out shortly after. If you can get it back on backup the data ASAP.
This happened to me a couple years ago. I used to fix all of my friends PS2s and random electronics. I no expert by any means. There are plenty of temporary fixes for the Yellow Lights but ultimately it will most likely die again. I took mine apart and re-applied the thermal paste for the heat sinc (however you spell it), I cleaned it out. It would come on for sometimes a couple hours or longer but then die again. When I talked to people about fixing it, they said they would be doing the same thing. Every person I know that has had this ended up having to get a new one or sending it in the Sony. They will replace the parts instead of attempting to fix the parts. Words of advice, If you get it on, save everything to to a thumb drive!!!! It sucked having to replay all of the games from the beginning. FYI, there is an easy temporary fix to get it back on for a little bit with ylod, you just need a box, a towel, and a hairdryer. You can youtube it or google it.
I've got a launch fatty PS3, and I've been paranoid about it dying on me. I finally threw down the money for a Playstation Plus account which lets me backup game saves automagically. It's nice having BC, but I never play my old PS2 games anymore. I think I'd rather have the slim with more hard drive space on it at this point.
