Honestly I can't stand him. His lyrics are stupid and have no real meaning, he called out Lupe Fiasco, he freaking tweeted LMFAO about another Chicago rapper dying (Police are investigating if he was related to the death).

Just listened to a few Chief Keef songs on youtube. New 2pac, the lyrics are so complex and thoughtful. How could I sleep on Keef???!!!!

Not complex?! You just don't the insane imagery and metaphors. This guy is INSANE! It's like every line he comes up with a whole new subject and questions our society, moral and believes.

But for real, some beats are good, lyrics are super wack. More like bump in the car or workout music, could be good in certain situations.

Would be funny to see these guys have a rap off. Keef would all be "Lupe is a stupid hoe, dumb ass n----. Meanwhile Lupe would be going off, rhymes that are going completely over Keef's head lol.

I had never heard of Chief until that either, but I had heard one of his songs from guys on my football team playing it in the longer room. Stupid lyrics with no substance, "A snitch n**** thats that s*** I don't like. A b**** n**** that's that s*** I don't like."

Honorable Mentions: OCD Moosh and Twist, Dylan Owen. I will post a few of their songs in a sec.

Here are my top 5 rappers right now:

    5. Childish Gambino - Has a number of great tracks, solid beats, clear rapping, nice flow. Not great meaning behind his raps, but he is capable of some clever rhymes.

    4. Nas- great flow, great beats, old school rapper. Not all that consistent though. Has a few tracks that are some of my favorites of all time.

    3. Mac Miller - Extremely consistent. He puts out mix tapes all the time and there's rarely a song I don't like. Has some great beats on his tracks, and his rapping is pretty good. I'm not crazy about his voice though.

    2. Kanye West - Nobody quiet flows like Kanye. All of his classic old songs are some of my favorite of all time. He has some really chill, electronic, bumping beats and his voice just flows into all of them some cleanly. His lyrics are solid and had more meaning back in his old albums.

    1. Lupe Fiasco - Right now my favorite rapper. Love his mixtapes, has a few great songs from his bigger albums. He can rap on just about any type of beat and has a great flow and great lyrics, with substance. He raps about religion, politics, etc. I don't always agree with his views, but at least he raps about stuff important.

Dylan Owen - Book report is quiet possibly my favorite rap song of all time. Great song, has a pretty good mix tape to but is more of a poet then rapper. Has a nice flow and lyrics but is different.

OCD Moosh & Twist: This rap combo has some seriously fresh tracks. First one is another one of my long time favorites:

oelman, your favourite rap song is from 2010. All your mentioned rappers are new school or still big(Nas, Kanye). How long have you been listening to rap?

Not that long considering I'm just a sophomore in High School and that list was my favorite current rappers. I love 2pac and Biggie and Kanye's old stuff. Watch the Throne was a big disappointment IMO.

What don't you like about Miller and Gambino? I know a lot of their substance isn't great but I don't take their songs to seriously.
