If you don't agree with Lupe's views then that's fine but at least he is talking about something important. He has pretty extreme views and says some things I agree with and somethings that I don't but its much better then listening to the same old crap about having money, hitting up the club, doing drugs, drinking, getting girls, etc. And to whoever said b**** Bad was awful, it wasn't my favorite at first but I actually warmed up to it after a few listens and now I'm really into that beat.
I'm interested in who people think the best hip hop artist of all time would be, I just put out Biggie because of his creativity, flow, thoughts, and just the way you could imagine every song he rapped. i know calling him the best is premature because he only came out with like 3 albums but he was well on his way. I'm not much of a tupac guy, Jay-z has imo ruined himself these past albums with Watch the Throne and Clique(new song in GooD music album). So who do you guys think the best of all time is?
I'd say it's definitely between Biggie and 2pac, and I agree, I'm one of the few who didn't like Watch the Throne. I miss early days Jay Z and Kanye.
Right now its 2pac imho.....his ability to get me to connect to what he was saying so deeply is the difference. Best right now.....hard to say, I'm gonna go with Stic.Man since the album he put out last year was the best i have heard in a few years.
If you like constant songs about how much richer he is than you, or how he has sex with every woman he sees, or how he can't stop smkoing weed. I personally don't care for any of that stuff. Hopsin>Lil Wayne.
hopsin is wack as hell <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qKLHJOJmq_g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What the hell is going on this thread? Back to hip-hop. First song is from Oddisee. Been the summer jam. Whole album is amazing. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Vuqbx9CBy0o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Eminem totally messed up Slaughthouse's CD. Over produced beats killed it. Still, there is a couple that ended up being good. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6jh_ewXAQsw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Still love ABN type music. Pandering song about Texas....God dammit, I love it. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Yiuys-pPH5A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And couple songs from Action Bronson and Brother Ali. Seeing them this month so been listening to their albums. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JNKeBoRbifw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Y1AcMS_dvdM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_zDzacn94ms" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
713's Top 5 Dead Or Alive: Lil Wayne 2 Chainz Plies Waka Flocka Flame T-Pain Honorable mentions: K-Fed, Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, Pitbull, Tyga, Nelly, Mike Jones, Chingy
Brother Ali has since fallen off (still insanely talented tho) but his 2nd album "Shadows on the Sun" is IMO one of the best hip hop albums from front to back. Everything from the beats, concepts, storytelling and lyrics were superb to me... And every album since just hasn't hit me like the fateful day I first put SotS in rotation.
Yeah his solo stuff has been a hit and miss for me. But anything he does with Jake One hits so damn hard. Wished he did the new album exclusively. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WokfJUK0nAk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> New song from Mourning in a America <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/06qWAClqh9I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
b**** bad is a great song, i liked kendrick too but it looks like he's starting to sell out. Hopefully his next single album is much realer then his couple of radio hits that hit this year. My top 5 rappers would have to be... no particular order... Old kanye Lupe Andre 3000 Nas Slick rick Those are my top 5 right now, i really have like a top 20 that i listen to with other rappers can get alternated in.
Nobody showing love to the Houston rappers I see... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AnXSZkaWFAM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Jlg3FEvyvas" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ye9JGy4JAZ8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bYVR59Z4Lsk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I don't have a top 5. Its too hard to make a list. I just enjoy good music... My top 5 would have like 10 people or something lol.
