Another terrible jobs number

Haha. Debate etiquette fail. Please provide a link to reputable organizations if they support your views.

I'm just being devil's advocate, but it seems ticky tacky trying to decide which jobs were created due to same-time policies or if they could have been residual from an earlier policy. Economics is all about lags, after all. I'm assuming this was accounted for. Honestly I would even be interested in hearing a case by case presentation of which presidents created most jobs and why. Seems like it would be useful information for all of us. God knows we need to get real regardless of who is in the White House and forget about this moral tug of war at the expense of reality.

Unemployment rates don't consider those that have given up and are permanantly unemployed- yes, and that applies to every President.

So, for example, if Real Unemployment now is 16.2% instead of 8.1%, that means that it was ~20% when the UE was 10%. Understand? The criteria for comparison- and yes, let's face it, we use norm referencing as opposed to criteria referencing when analyzing Presidents, is the same for each.

Turned around? UE went from 8.3% to 10%. Then, it went down to where it is now at 8.1%. That's called a turnaround.

Here's the dictionary definition in case you are interested:

"The act or an instance of turning about and facing or moving in the opposite direction; a reversal."

Now, if you want to say that Obama himself caused the UE to jump from 8.3% to 10% in his first 8 months, fine. It's still a fact that he has had more months of UE decrease than increases.

If the President's job is to help reduce the UE, he has done it in more months than not, and the official UE rate used as a measuring tool for economic health is now lower than when he started. It rose under GW1, W1, W2, and RR1. It decreased under RR2, BC1, BC2, and BO1. That's improvement. Matter of fact, that's the 4th best in the past 32 years- and I believe, considering it went up under Carter and Ford, that it's the 4th best since 1974. If you think it should have been better, so be it.

But facts are stubborn things.

 

The jobs numbers wouldn't be so low if the republicans would work with the president in trying to pass the American jobs act. Instead, their number one objective is to remove Obama from office. Republicans truly are just a bunch of clowns.

If people were smart they would take all the republicans out of the house and senate. To bad that won't happen.
