What I can't wait for is the debates. That's going to be prime-time TV. And I do believe the Dems at this point have an advantage. They completely dominated the convention.
Very workmanlike. Unfinished business. Masterfully built on the theme of "A more perfect union" by listing of accomplishments and crediting voters. You can see the yoke of leadership has weighed on him and he brought that gravitas to the speech. Made Romney/Ryan look like amateurs... which they are.
Because I can't stand deceit and distortion in the name of partisan politics. Really, I shouldn't care... but some of the comments, I just can't help it, they p**s me off. Probably more my lack of controlling my emotions than what they see (since much of it is not worth responding to).
Ehh sorry, have to disagree.. Romney's speech was quite mediocre.. Similar to that given by Mondale and Dole in the past.. I don't think Obama gave a speech on par with Clinton, Rice or Michelle; but it was still very solid. I expect Obama may get 1-2 point advantage at best from the conventions... Tomorrow Romney will begin his negative attacks with paid spots. Should be a close race... 2-3 point spread
I think it was better than I expected. Honestly there's not much more Obama can do. They just have to take the onslaught of the money now and count on the debates to help Obama through. I think everything will be a wash and it will be very tight.
As an independent voter, I thought it was no where near the 2008 speech. He is a good speaker, but the speech was long on rhetoric and short on specifics. I actually expected better. In any case, I don't think it matters, the two sides are mostly solidified. I predict a close vote. Obama got my vote last time, he won't this time. His performance as President fell far short of his 2008 promises. I don't particularly care for Romney, but it is time to try a different approach.
Breaking news....Chris Matthews did not get a thrill running up his leg this time. B Kardashian can not fool Americans anymore after the last 4 pathetic years.
I'm curious to hear what "different approach" Romney offers as POTUS that would make you want to vote for him? I'm an independent as well and I think the POTUS has been able to accomplish some, but not all, of what he set out to do. What promises has he failed to keep that have influenced your vote? I'm honestly asking out of respectful curiosity.

I have just one question for you: where exactly should the unemployment be right now? Unemployment, as everyone knows, is a critical factor for many reasons in determining a country's economic health. So, the question is simple: what should the UE rate be right now? If you don't know, then your comments above would make no sense ("pathetic").
You know who Obama reminds me of tonight? Shane Battier. His campaign staff made a plan that had the likes of Clinton and Michelle do the heavy lifting and all the other speakers and participants fill in their respective role (be it attack dog, interest group specialist or otherwise). The POTUS's role, by design, was to play D and shoot corner 3s. We think of Michelle and Clinton as having given the better speeches because the case for re-electing the POTUS is better made by a third person-- would be strange for him to testify to his own character, would sound arrogant and out of touch to brag too much about achievements given the still tough economy, and would be un-Presidential to play attack dog too much himself. Anyhow, Obama's speech fits in with the rest of the convention, which saw everybody more or less play as a team executing the game plan. Meanwhile, the team in Tampa had a bunch of guys who don't know the game plan and spent their time on the court jacking up shots and stuffing their own stat. Looked amateurish in comparison. This is why Daryl needs to get some veterans for the Rockets.
This is gonna be one of those only if I have absolutely nothing better to do will I go vote kind of years. Cant say I want Romney or Obama as President. Would love some politicians that give me a real reason to vote for them rather than the "Hey at least I'm better than the other guy" routine.
