One more thing: bull****. You're trolling a bunch of people and stating that their positions are invalid. Go ahead, freely pop off. But know you'll be just as freely called out as the moron you are.
What about the last five years? Sorry, but the AL is far, far better than the NL. I don't like it because I hate the DH, but you can't deny the facts.
The AL winning percentage against the NL since 2009 is .540. That works out to a record of 88-74 over 162 games. That's a huge advantage, though it's not as bad as it was just a few years ago.
Those things are cyclical. The AL teams have had a stronger winning percentage the last decade, but it will swing back, and then back again.
AL should usually have an advantage in interleague. AL team has the DH, usually a well above average hitter, while the NL teams are forced to use a replacement level player.
...they only get to use their half-players for half the games. The other half, their pitchers have to actually play *baseball* just like the NL teams' pitchers do. And their "DHs" have to actually get their ass on the field and play *baseball* or sit on the bench.
Yeah, but having a huge advantage in the half the games makes it decidedly unfair. For the most part, neither set of pitchers is any good. There are very few full-time DHs, let alone the teams best player. The 8 guys out in the field are often the same level as the 8 guys out there in the NL.
maybe. I'm too lazy to see if the numbers were more even in the 90s than they were through the 00s and so far in the 01s. at any rate, screw the AL, with its DH, Nintendo, chicks-dig-the-long-ball, ADHD brand of "baseball".
Here's the kind of stat I was looking for: [rquoter]The AL's interleague record in home games since '04: 576-354. In NL parks, NL teams actually own a winning record (482-458) since '04[/rquoter] In AL stadiums, that is a ridiculous 62% winning percentage for the AL compared to 51% winning percentage for the NL in NL parks. And yes, screw the DH.
I wonder how much of that may also have to do with the NL having more doormats during that time period?
Since 2004, the NL's five winningest regular season teams are the Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. Of that quintet, only the Cardinals own a winning interleague record in that span. These are from 2011. http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/sto...he-american-league-dominates-interleague-play
I think it's just better talent. The AL DH is certainly going to be a better hitter than a 4th outfielder NL type, but if the NL had deeper talent, the drop-off would not have to be so large.
Interleague record, fool. The AL has won the last nine seasons in a row and 12 0f the 16 years of interleague play. Scoreboard AL
Honestly the Astros died a couple of months ago when I knew they wouldn't be doing anything good this season. With the move to the AL, it's over. **** Bud Selig, and **** the Rangers. It's all Rockets and a little bit of Texans for me.
And yeah... are yall stupid or something? Last time I checked, championship wins are more accomplishing than regular season wins.
