What about the last five years? Sorry, but the AL is far, far better than the NL. I don't like it because I hate the DH, but you can't deny the facts.
The AL winning percentage against the NL since 2009 is .540. That works out to a record of 88-74 over 162 games. That's a huge advantage, though it's not as bad as it was just a few years ago.
Those things are cyclical. The AL teams have had a stronger winning percentage the last decade, but it will swing back, and then back again.
AL should usually have an advantage in interleague. AL team has the DH, usually a well above average hitter, while the NL teams are forced to use a replacement level player.
...they only get to use their half-players for half the games. The other half, their pitchers have to actually play *baseball* just like the NL teams' pitchers do. And their "DHs" have to actually get their ass on the field and play *baseball* or sit on the bench.
Yeah, but having a huge advantage in the half the games makes it decidedly unfair. For the most part, neither set of pitchers is any good. There are very few full-time DHs, let alone the teams best player. The 8 guys out in the field are often the same level as the 8 guys out there in the NL.

Since 2004, the NL's five winningest regular season teams are the Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. I think it's just better talent. The AL DH is certainly going to be a better hitter than a 4th outfielder NL type, but if the NL had deeper talent, the drop-off would not have to be so large.

Honestly the Astros died a couple of months ago when I knew they wouldn't be doing anything good this season. With the move to the AL, it's over. **** Bud Selig, and **** the Rangers. It's all Rockets and a little bit of Texans for me.
