I was gonna quote it until I saw you got the line wrong.... I like big butts and I can not lie,all you other brothas can't deny... But I see where you're going, and if you keep it up and I'm pretty sure you'll give me more great material!

I think Terrence will be starting PF. I think Dmo or Ppat will be C off the bench. Both Asik and Terrence are shot-blockers and great defenders. I think this is the way it will go down anyway.
You are right about what Terrence's natural position will be in the league, but DMo, at 220, would fair better now as PF. Jones(252lbs) will likely play more at center because of his weight and wingspan. He would also be able to defend better as the back-up center.
I think 220 may be old information. I think he's bigger than that now. Backup Center will play a more limited amount than a starting PF. I think you want your best players on the court as much as possible. An Asik/Jones combo would be tough defensively - more so than Asik/Dmo. It would be a wash offensively imho. Dmo may actually play the backup PF role. Ppat might be the backup C. You could also slide Terrence from PF to C when Asik sits down. There's a lot of options now. I just think you want your best players getting the most minutes. I believe Jones has a leg-up on the comp, but I've been reading that Ppat has been looking good in practice though so who knows. What I think we'll see once the season starts: 5. Asik/Ppat 4. Jones/Dmo 3. Parsons/Delfino (would like to see JaJuan though) 2. Martin/Lamb 1. Lin/Machado
Jason Friedman said in the Rocketscast this afternoon that from the workouts he's seen this summer personally that Patrick Patterson has by far been the best big man on the court. I think Patterson starts, but slides over to the 5 when they sub in either Jones/D-Mo/ or White to be the first big to come in off the bench. Im on the bandwagon though that Jones will probably win minutes as the first big off the bench right away because of the multitude of things he can do, and as experienced that he is at being a do-everything role playing big man on a successful team which will help him out dramatically.
I know that DMo at maybe 230-240 would be able to hold it down at center, but i just see him in a Pau Gasol type role. Also, where did you read about Patterson?
From Jason Friedman: "Assuming good health, Patterson is strong favorite to be starting 4 to begin the season."
Dude we were never contenders. We were seen as dark horses, as in guys who had some potential. Do you realize this was the time when Spurs were in their prime, PHX had Nash, Marion and Amare and Dirk was elevating his game to superstar level? We were never relevant because except for that last year against the Jazz Yao Ming would always break down right before the playoffs started, leaving us with Tmac, 40 year old Mutombo and Jon Barry. You're taking my argument and flipping it on its head. I said Tinman never posts about the current rox squads, he just talks about tmac and Hakeemers all the time. I said if he's a real rox fan he should talk about the current Rox fans too. WHen did I say he should only talk about the current team? Also this thread is specifically about how good a player can be (Lesser Howard), just cause the team is mediocre doesn't mean you have to bash them all the time. Um I'm sorry but do you realize the irony in your post? You're saying you can't project how a player will perform because he hasn't played an NBA game yet, but then you're saying LBJ, Dirk and DH are future HOFs? How do you know they're future HOF, they haven't been inducted into the HOF yet. Hell Lebron's career isn't even half done isn't that in your own words "pre-mature"? Badlee's thread is based on two things: Jones is extremely athletic, and he has similar proportions to Howard. You can argue that those two qualities alone aren't enough to make the case that Jones will be Howard 2.0 (esp. since Jones tends to disappear and become passive on the court), but don't make the stupid argument that just cause he hasn't played an NBA game he can't be compared to current NBA players. You were gifted with a brain, you can use it to project how someone will perform in the NBA even if you haven't seen him play in the NBA yet. Sure you might be wrong, but then again at the end of the day we're all just fans, not professional bball analysts. Point is you CAN do it to an extent. This argument reminds me of when some dude made a random thread about how you can trade Ming (who was coming off injury) for Blake Griffin (who was coming off injury) and another dude turned it down because Griffin hasn't played an NBA game yet. Seriously, what if Wiz trades you Beal for Kmart? Will you turn it down because Beal hasn't played an NBA game?
