Let's not forgot, $75 million back then (I believe she inherited in 92) is like $120 million in today's dollars.

I wonder what she'd be worth right now had all her employees worked for $2/day all these years.

LOL, what a b****. Her world would be a lot different if she didn't spend the beginning part of it trying to learn what to do with her money once she inherited it...as opposed to spending that time, oh i dunno, trying to help her family get by, trying to stay safe in a dangerous neighborhood, being a victim of neglict, being beat by abusive parents or watching close friends and family become addicts. I wonder how she would've done if she simply had a decent education, but no inheritance money...I bet she'd read crap like we're reading and saying, "That b****".

LOL, good point...so she increased her worth by 10X? I know I increased my worth by much more than 10X since 92', the only difference is that I started with like 6000-7000k out of college...I imagine most everyone has a lot more money at 30 and 40 then when they were 18.

The myth that anyone deserves their social status is NOT the same as the myth that you can be successful through hard work.

At any rate, it's naive to believe everyone doesn't live in their own unique circumstances.

Its alot different to invest your money when your quality of life doesn't change if it fails.

Sure I could invest my life savings in a business, but if it fails I dont get to retire.

Its a little bit different where if your business fails 10 different times, you still are set for life. Also she is fat, so theres that.

I know how you hate anyone who makes $.01 more than you do (which is nearly everyone).

Its not being born with money; Its being raised how to manage money. The two are frequently synonymous. There are plenty of lotto winners who squander away their newly found riches and athletes who make millions. On the other hand, there are plenty of spoiled rich kids who squander away their inheritance.

You not knowing the difference leads me to believe you dislike anyone who has money.

Again the $75 million was in the form of undeveloped mining rights. Her increase of wealth came from the explosion of commodity prices and developing those mines.

Her father basically left her billions in a box that's worth $75 million, all she had to do was open it.

BTW I love how she said they could learn from Africa, clearly Africa is a role model for economical stability

BTW This is her father's solution for getting the Australian aboriginals off their land so his company could go in and mine it.

Always give work to people willing to do it adequately for the least amount of money. If they will take less, they need it more.

Won't comment on how she made her money, but what she's saying is in a globalized economy there are people out there willing to do the same work for less, and we in The West better recognize this reality or all our jobs will be taken away by people willing to work harder for less (and getting more educated/productive all the time).

I dont think shes advocating $2 a day pay, I think she was talking about the desire to work being there that they are willing to work for $2 a day. Also, $2 a day might be a living wage in some places. If that is what she meant, then I can live with that. If she really meant Aussies work for $2 a day, she needs to get hit with some sort of stick...repeatedly.
