You mean winning 3 defensive player of the years in a row? http://www.nba.com/2011/news/04/18/dwight-howard-defensive-player-release/index.html NEW YORK -- Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic is the recipient of the 2010-11 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award, the NBA announced today. Howard becomes the first player to earn the honor three straight seasons; only Dikembe Mutombo and Ben Wallace, with four each, have won the award more times.
You would think someone with more than 32,000 posts would know how to liven up the Garm. Unless all those posts were spent on hating.
Because.....dude, why would i say plays less defense? That would defeat my purpose, which basically is, Terrence Jones should play back-up center this upcoming season. I understand you want to throw s**** up against the wall and see what sticks, but you're wasting time.
Fixed it for ya, bro. Also posting about former rocket players is good and all, but its been like 2 decades since the Rox had a relevant team in the NBA. If you're a real Rocket fan you should also be posting your thoughts about the current Rox squad and not wallowing about their glory years all the damn time. Seriously, all you really do is either rage about Tmac or post news articles/blurbs/clips about the Hakeem-era Rockets. That's good and all, but I dunno why you suddenly think that automatically makes your threads superior to Badlee. Its like you feel like you derive street cred from the players you post about, because you've pulled some article about one of the Hakeemers suddenly you're the cool kid while Badlee is the class clown who talks about Morris, White and Jones? Dude, FYI just because you post about Hakeem doesn't mean you're actually Hakeem or posters here should treat you like you're Hakeem's BFF or whatever. Badlee has the same access to the internet as you, I'm sure if he wanted to he can google those articles as easily as you do, he just doesn't want to. I mean seriously, making a thread about how Jones is a lesser Howard suddenly means Badlee doesn't know what HOF players are?
You see he's comparing Howard right? You see Howard's stats? That's against NBA players in NBA games. Where is he pulling these stats for Jones? You know where.
1st) You must not be a "real Rocket Fan". 2 Decades since being relevant?!? The Rockets were a top team in 08-09 before Yao went down. Then in 04-05 we had the infamous rigged Dallas series, which we were an obvious contender then too. 2nd) Who made that the rule? So if the team is terrible, then as a "real Rockets fan" you're only allowed to talk about how sorry they are? I thought this was Clutchfans - All Things Rockets, not Clutchfans - *Current Season Only Edition* 3rd) I don't think anyone thinks they have "superior" threads to anyone else, but I think a lot of people just think that in a word, Badlee's threads are "pre-mature". Tinman has a very good point in the fact that you can't just compare a player who has never played a real NBA game (i.e., Royce White, Donatas M., and Terrance Jones) to players who are considered to be future HOF'ers (LeBron, Dirk, and Dwight Howard)
Why not? People do it every year with the top draft picks. It has never been a problem then. The only reason Tinny is trippin is because i made this thread during the time we wasted chasing after Dwight. I'm not too worried about him though. He will come around once the season starts and Jones is playing well.
The only difference is i am doing this for players who weren't picked at the top of the draft, but were once in(or should have been) the top of the draft.
If a player hasn't played a single NBA game, can you accurately/honestly say that they should've been drafted at the top? I'm not saying that these guys are going to be trash, I'm just saying that they haven't played a single NBA game and I would like to at least see them play against real NBA starters before I compare them to real NBA HOF'ers
Before Lebron even stepped foot on an NBA court, millions were already saying he was going to be all that and more. A better example would be Andrew Wiggins who hasn't even graduated high school yet, but apparently, he is the next big thing. What's the difference?
You gave me a lot to choose from, but just when I thought I wouldn't be able to make a decision I was hit with that piece of pure gold. Thanks.....or maybe you would've liked it more had I called it a piece of pure yellow?
There you go again..you asked whats the difference between hyping LeBron James vs hyping the #18 pick in a draft?
