wow, this is low even for you. Really no need for this kind of gross racist banter. Clearly you are becoming unhinged here.

Right wing nuts - police your own.

I have to say that, just now, listening in on 10 mins of Michelle Obama and the crowd reaction blows away what I saw last week in Tampa. True or false, she projects a lot more sincerity & empathy than Ann Romney or Paul Ryan. Very dynamic speaker but I still can't bring myself to listen any longer.

    Here's the difference TJ:

    the GOP "diversity" was on the podium for token show;
the Democratic diversity is in the crowd, the supporters, and on the podium.

Not to mention the White House.

The GOP completely agrees with you. And it's exactly why they have zero ability to connect with the Latino community.

Amazing job by Michelle, she killed it. Was really impressed with several of the speakers tonight. The energy from both the crowd and the speakers blew away what we saw last week.

With Clinton and Obama coming up the next two days, these were the "weak" speakers relatively speaking (though Biden is unlikely to be impressive). If they can continue this narrative about opportunity/family/prosperity instead of just being filled with anger, this race is going to be dramatically different in a week.

42 months of 8% unemployment, $16 trillion in debt, declining median incomes, doubled gas prices

no speech can wipe away this record of failure

Clint said it best, "when someone doesn't do the job, you gotta let em go"

Biography and caring were for 2008. 2012 is about results.

Yeah, nothing says opportunity like higher taxes, more regulation, more litigation. Nothing says family like 71% of black babies born out of wedlock and 50% of hispanic babies born out of wedlock. Nothing says family like rejecting Christianity and having a plank in your party's platform that encourages abortion at any point (including partial birth). Nothing says prosperity like the higher unemployment, lower income levels, and explosion of debt that we've seen under the last four years of liberal rule.

Do Democrats actually stop and think about their policies and the damage it's doing to opportunity/family/prosperity? How can they hold these views when the facts are staring them straight in the face?

did major really just say that his party was pumping "opportunity and prosperity"?

    BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA

Might want to check some economic facts first before preaching that message

Amusing that say all this in criticizing a person that actually lived the American dream and experienced all the opportunity while simultaneously spouting off all this drivel. I'm pretty sure he understands all of those things a hell of a lot better than you. You treat the Latino audience as children that should care about accents and language tutors, instead of story and life experience. You (and the GOP) have absolutely no clue how to relate to people living the life you talk about - and it shows so clearly in the polls.

    Totally agree with you.

Folks who are still struggling out there can connect with what has been said by so many competent speakers at the DNC.

Landslide again, just like in 2008.

As I said earlier in the thread, the GOP missed an opportunity in their convention to lay out an alternative agenda - they focused on anger and avoided any specific policy proposals or ideas. Larry Kudlow - huge Romney supporter - had a great article on this topic. In a race between optimism and anger, optimism will almost always win in US politics - it's the nature of the country. The GOP had to make it about their own agenda, and they punted (likely because they know that most of the specifics on their agenda are horribly unpopular).

Dems won't win because of a love for Obama or even Democrats' specific ideas; they'll win because Romney failed to present a viable alternative, and Obama showed enough to earn more time. If the next two days are like today, the Dems will effectively have eliminated the enthusiasm gap, and that was the only thing keeping this race close.
