    third time's a charm.

hypervigilance? more carefully and diplomatically? from a guy who gets high all day and before work?

I remember when I was saying this stuff at age 17.

this thread reminds me of the stroller wars constantly going on in my neighborhood regarding children in bars. i think if you don't get high or don't like that others do, you should stay out of the thread.

just want to add that i don't condone drive while impaired.

Im 18 and quit smoking sense I have a goal of joing the military, but thats not the point.

When I first drove high I did okay for like two miles driving to my girlfriends house. Then after a while I just let my mind go off to other places while im listneing to Nujabes,J Dilla, and Flying Lotus and I start zoning and not realizing that im driving pretty reckless and not paying attention.

so I guess weed does effect the way you drive I still think its hell of alot safer then driving drunk.

    Fake.

As far as Ronny goes, he must have been around some noobs. Munchies and excessive laughter was so 2000. Lol

Edit: I know doctors, dentists (not Rez ha!), lawyers, engineers, and all sorts of rich folks that smoke all the time. These people also drink. What's the big deal, again?

I'm the same way. I equate driving really high to driving tired. If I'm really tired, I won't get behind the wheel, or I'll stop somewhere (never has happened, but I've gotten close). Same with being high. If I'm too high, I won't leave my house. If I'm smoking a joint and driving somewhere, I won't get as high because I'm driving first of all. You don't get to enjoy the full effects of the weed since you also have to concentrate on the road. Also, my joints do go out, so I reach a point where "I'm good" and just put it away and continue to enjoy the ride.

I really drive no different high. I always hit a bowl or two before getting in my car and driving to work in the morning. People do a whole bunch of productive things while high. It's not the same as being drunk at all....

But here is something you are not understanding...the people who are lazy will be lazy if they smoke. The stereotype pothead is no different than the stereotype of a Texan or Texas in general. When people think of our state, they think our cities look like El Paso, when in actuality, El Paso looks like the oddball compared to the rest of the big cities. Same thing with weed. The potheads are only the obvious smokers. If you walked into.my job and looked around, you could not tell that five out of the twelve people at my job are strong potheads. And tbh, you couldn't even tell who the alcohol drinkers are either.

This notion that you "grew up" is just laughable. Do people grow up from drinking? How is weed any different? When i first started smoking, I didn't know how to handle it. I would just smoke smoke and smoke. As I got older and into.college, I realized there was a time and place for weed. After school work, more on the weekend, etc. It's all about moderation. mar1juana is the least harmful drug out there though. If someone handed.me three 40s or a joint, I'm taking the joint. If someone gives me a pack of cigarettes, I will use the cigs to transport weed on airplanes.

Seriously though, you are making weed out to be some little kid drug that you do for a while but then get older and "wiser". That's laughable considering the different types of people, from all ages and races, that smoke. I honestly think this is just a cultural thing in parts.of America due to prohibition laws here. Just because people don't aevertise their weed smoking doesn't mean they don't do it. I live in DFW and had a friend in Plano. We smoked out of three foot bongs at an accountant's house, who works for a tech firm up there. He was very secretive about it, but like he said, its no different that cracking a can of beer open at the end of the day. It's just a much safer, less harmful, and more fun way to calm down at the end of the day.

Amazing right? The 75 people i employ (full timers...not including contract workers) at a business i started when i was 21 seem to think i'm doing something right. There was a stretch of years when i was working 16hr days every 2nd day of the week.

    Lazy people are lazy.

Who said anything about all day? I get in to the plant @ 5:30am & do not have to deal w/clients until 7am at the minimum. Due to my Mediterranean temper, sometimes, rare it may be, i will show up after having a toke - it calms my nerves & helps me channel the stress more positively.

my comment was aimed at the rationalization/justification you made getting behind the wheel under the impairment of mar1juana, not your career path.

but I am glad you can maintain that 21 years later. I couldn't do it with the line of work that I'm in. I went to a meeting high once to avoid having a stress attack just like you, and my coworkers called me out. luckily my bosses didn't notice.

sometimes it took me to dark places, but overall I enjoy being clean and clear.

    power to the potheads!

It took you to dark places? Lol. More like revealing yourself to yourself. Embrace that and grow on it. I'd rather have the high driver paying full attention than someone on a cell phone, texting, disciplining kids, putting on make up, old people, drunks, etc.

It's definitely different for everyone. I don't like to get high before I do anything social. I much rather have a few drinks when I'm in a social setting. My blazing time is usually around 9 or 10 pm...Right before a session of MW3, Halo, 2k12 or a good movie. I'll also toke up if I know I'm just going to chill at home most of the day and not do anything. The biggest reason for this is because I can't hide my high...my eyes get super red and glassy.

When I used to work out more, I would smoke before my workout...definitely made me concentrate on my work out and it seems funny, but I felt stronger when I was stoned and felt like I could work out much longer. My trainer at the time would also blaze up.

you're like my brother...mine become an even deeper shade of green. Weird.

My cousin swears by this technique. He's a gym rat & smokes prior to each work-out, he believes it helps him focus & be more in tune with what his body is doing & feeling. If i go to the gym high i end up chatting up whatever birds are adjacent...perhaps this explains my lithe physique.

i don't like drinking after smoking. alcohol just ruins my haigggh. and i hear ya on the social thing, if i'm smoking, i want to either be melting into a couch or hearing live music, lost in my own head...i sure as hell don't want to be at a bar/club with a bunch of horny douchebags or chatty people.

yoga after smoking a bowl is ahhhh-mazing.

I'm with you on the not going out part, but working out sounds crazy to me. I've got some co-workers who love to get high before we go to happy hour, but I typically just wait to smoke until we get back to their place after the bar because I hate being in public stoned.

I'm kinda pumped tonight. I haven't smoked in a month because of a potential drug test for a different job, but that's out of the way. Got my sack and I'm off to the store with the following shopping list -

    poptarts
    pizza
    milk
    bread
    jelly/peanut butter
    strawberries
    pineapple

so the whole paranoia stigma must be made up?

you can lol at the "notion that I grew up", or that I can admit my altered state of mind was something I didn't enjoy all the time. it is what it is- my mind is much clearer now.

you have made your stance on driving while impaired, that's all I was trying to point out in the first place.

I'd rather not have the choice between the stoned driver and the talker/texter- they are both illegal.
