..... ...... ................ Weed isn't like Heroin.. How many people have you talked to that have been hooked on Heroin say that the drug has improved their lives? Made them more motivated?? Helped them become a much better person in general??? You will never hear that from a Heroin addict.. because they will admit it is bad and they are a slave and it is not good for you at all However I have heard countless stories of how weed has literally turned an individuals life around. You don't hear any negative stories very often, verrrryy rarely. I have heard countless stories of how individuals are more motivated to accomplish things, have set goals that they are excited about trying to accomplish now, have worked on their inner demons and or scars that they attained in childhood.. some of those scares or ordeals they didn't even realize they had until they smoked pot and it forced them to battle against them and get their ego in check. You hear COUNTLESS stories of how weed has changed their perspective on life, on themselves, on who they want to be, on what they want to do for the betterment of themselves and others. You here COUNTLESS stories of how weed has improved their lives greatly, even saved them.. literally from suicide, to now being successful businessmen with beautiful families to call their own. I'm one, when I used to smoke weed it gave me the urge and desire and motivation to do many things I have done now (its definitely attributed to my old smoking days). I learned Japanese, I learned Guitar, it inspired me to get interested in Biology and Physics- it was so interesting when I was high as were the other things. I remember sitting bored out of my mind in my bedroom- nothing seemed interesting (maybe something interesting is on TV i would think before smoking). I would then smoke and next thing I know I was face first in biology books. Which has transitioned to Neuroscience which put me on a route in life and set me off into the direction of now earning my Doctorates with a motivation to use my knowledge attained to help others. Like I have stated once already, if your a first time smoker you may get paranoid, you may not even like it. I compare it to a wave, once you learn to ride the wave you get the benefits of the plant. And while I know most of this board is strongly athiest, I myself am Christian and I'll never forget sitting and reading the New Testament while high, it seemed I understood everything and it definitely helped me build a stronger relationship with Jesus who has in my mind and heart made me the man I am today

Depending on quality, you can go up north Missouri/Kansas and I've bought dime bags with 1.6g in them. Hell, you can get 4 grams (quarter) for 30-35! Hahaha. Then a pound will run you about 1100-1300. I've heard there's spots in Texas you can get a pound for like 400. Now THAT I find hard to believe (the rest I know is legit from experience), but apparently it's closer to the bordertowns.

Basically, people find what works for them then preach it like the Gospel. As a Christian, you're fully aware of all the BS and voo doo they throw in to create a more intense atmosphere. If a God exists, there are many paths to reach him and one religion isn't right, another isn't wrong. Some people listen to music to find that higher power and understanding. Some people chant. Some rebel. Mathloom, an anti-American Emirati with no access to mar1juana, crushes pills and snorts them while watching Adult Swim in a rastafarian beanie to pretend he knows what it's like to be high. Because for him, it's about belonging and that's what works for his situation! The list goes on, but everyone wants to wind up in the same place. Happy and with a real understanding of who they are. Doing what works for them. So while I'm glad weed worked for you, I think you would have gotten there eventually. It wasn't the catalyst you want it to be. Not to mention as a doctor you probably have a high aptitude of processing information - there are plenty of burnouts who can't say the same and use it as a crutch to waste away their possibilities. And because of the polarizing nature of different humans, we can't draw any real conclusions without being ignorant. Without cheating ourselves of the truth. It's best to accept this instead of play off weed as a completely harmless, empowering foreign substance in front of impressionable children. It's not about the high - it's about the lifestyle.
