He makes me ashamed to be 1/4 Aussie. I do owe him one thing though. He inspired me to start an ignore list because every time I saw one of his posts I barfed. Since this often happened several times in one day it was a most inconvenient situation. Nobody likes to barf every day. So I made him the only person on my ignore list and I almost stopped barfing altogether. I then added about 13 people and made it a practice to almost never peek (I did for giddyup a couple times - masochism), and -- believe it or not -- I've been barf-free for like two weeks. If you are having a bbs barfing problem, I strongly suggest this method. It just might work. And I have that d******d Itzak to thank for it. Thanks, dickzat!
To follow up on my prior post, we could have a near-Utopia of intelligent conversation around here you guys. If you just can't stop yourself from responding, ignore and don't peek. This isn't about talking in an echo-chamber of like-minded people; I love to debate issues with those that sincerely disagree, aren't hateful bigots, and don't have a bias against science and facts. weslinder is a perfect example; I would never ignore list him because I'd be missing out on great posts. But there is no honor in "I don't have anyone on ignore!" Because you cannot help correcting people that are so plainly wrong, dumb, and stubborn in their ignorance. And they are Medusas. Cut off one snake and two grow back. You have to cut off her head. I implore you all to do it. The one remaining bummer with this method is people quoting the dicks I have on ignore. Should anyone request aid with this method, I would be happy to provide a list of around 13 people that the ignoring of will make your lives on this board immeasurably better.
How funny it is to watch the most hate-filled poster on the BBS attempt to scale Mount Moral Highground while simultaneously calling someone a d!ck! The frustration is building.
I don't have anyone on ignore and I don't have any trouble not responding - it's not that hard. I mean, it's clear that these guys belong into one of two camps. The total moron camp or the total dick camp. People know that. Yet they still respond. For 10 years I have wondered why - and my conclusion is that those who respond are either just as moronic or have their own dicks to wet so really they are just lesser versions. Who is worse - the person who lays the trap, or the one who walks right into it despite it being right out in the open? I think it's the latter.
Everyone on my list is in both camps or I wouldn't have them on ignore. Regarding the rest of your post, I don't agree that it makes one a lesser man or whatever to call a dumbass a dumbass, in whichever way one might elect to do so. If I still read those posts I would read such stupid stuff I couldn't help but say that is such stupid stuff. Call me weak. That's okay, I am weak. And yet I can't help but think that, in this particular area, I don't really care about becoming stronger -- not when there's a better way. That's weird. You're the one that still tries sometimes to debate him. For at least five years I've just called him stupid (at most) and moved on down the line. Putting George on ignore was an afterthought; I've barely noticed him since he came back. It was ignore-listing the new wave of bigots (Izak) and dumbasses (hightop) along with a few of the they-are-dicks/they-are-only-ever-dicks like Swoly, CaseyH and AssMagic that have so improved my reading and writing experience here.
