I Lol'd when I saw the fly, which was back from the symbolic "The Fly" episode...I wondered what was going to happen, I figured a fire was going to start, and something even weaker like the ricin being found was going to happen, when they were by the pool, but something in my mind knew that that "Gale gift-book" they showed in the first few scenes, left me wondering how that was going to play out.
Thing I said too was the constant "ticking" we've been hearing, so ya it's going to return.
I watched the Inside the EP and Vince said last 8 will go hard, but I do agree cancer is back, and will be worse.
-here's two things Hank knows now, Walt doesn't know he knows....walt,has given, and paid for these medical bills, what will Hank do..."tagging trees is a lot better than chasing monsters."- Walt responds finishing his drink "I used to like camping."
-Jesse has broke good officially, I'm suprised he didn't blow his brains out seeing all that dirty money...he's so scared of Walt now, bc, he is a " ticking time bomb"
Thanks Mike for the best episode, and great acting, Mike made BB better, and sarcastically dry humorous
Unless these last 8 do get way more intense..The Wire will stand number one still, I included, have thought that BB would be better, but this last episode "time" moved to quickly, and in previous seasons, there was far more symbolic characterization that helped make the show so addicting, this season, it was a character here, then an episode or three later, Saul had maybe two funny lines this season, and I am just hoping for a more back to the drama, we learned almost a series full of information this year with Lydia and the whole issues after Gus' death which I get it, but I feel there was some stretches by the writers, maybe they were conflicted as to how to end it...I don't know
-we will all be waiting a year now I guess to finish this off:(

The Wire is top notch, but there are a lot of local references that worked for me considering I was working in Baltimore at the time...won't have the same appeal to others. You guys are also missing out on Southland, Boardwalk Empire, and Justified. Breaking Bad is in this group...not the clear #1, but belonging in this group.

Pretty wonderful twist from Gilligan who, with all of the focus on the ricin being "Chekhov's Gun" (which I still have to believe will come into play), made the real gun the book. Everything in this show has a purpose and Walt, smiling as he saw the copy of "Leaves of Grass" given to him by Gale.

For a man so obsessed with tying up loose ends and killing nine Fring witnesses in two minutes, the smoking gun was left behind in his own home. Was it his own hubris that left it there in the first place? Walt never seemed to dislike Gale, but he had to kill him in order to survive. Or maybe, since the pages seemed to stick together, he never saw the message himself.

I have a hard time believing that Walt is "out." I doubt that the dealers in Phoenix will allow him to walk away. After all, who wants to live in a world without Coke?

At the beginning of this thread, we've all made these predictions on Breaking Bad would end & I found Vince gave us a preview of all 3 predictions in this episode.

    A. Cancer comes back
    B. Jesse kills Walt (could be inferred with Jesse packing the pistol in fear of Walt)
    C. Hank catches him.

The final 8 episodes will basically have these options in play. How will it end is the question?

Jesse kills Walt with cancer while Hank catches him and holds him down.

I was thinking the same thing but i think he was referencing the scene in the desert when Walt compares his product to the coke a cola brand.

Coca cola, not cocaine. He's quoting what Walt said to the drug dealers when they asked him why they would want to sell his product when they already have a meth cook.

I started this the other day, only watched the first two episodes so far. I had bought the complete series a while back on a whim when I saw it on sale for really cheap, just now getting around to it.

I'm really hoping its as good as people say. So far I enjoy it but it is a bit slow right now. I just need SOMETHING to tide me over until Breaking Bad comes back, so I don't go insane. Also need to start Mad Men.

You are in for a treat, I didn't get hooked until later in the first season but I only feel half trollish when I say The Wire is better overall than BB.

Quoting Walt during his introduction to the Phoenix crew.

My big prediction - Walt killing Skyler is the half season cliffhanger - didn't come through, but I still think it has to be in play. The ricin is still in the bedroom. Walt's fake last name, revealed during the cold open of the first episode, is Lambert which is Skyler's maiden name. That brief scene heavily suggested that Walt is alone in the world on his 52nd birthday.

Then again, the show also hinted at some sort of mutual recognition, and agreement, between Jesse and Skyler during their brief interaction in the car wash. They both see Walt for what he's become. Will Walt really be allowed to leave the game? It would seem that he hasn't, at least when he turns 52. How will he react when he realizes that Hank is onto him?
