The Celtics will go as far as KG and Pierce takes them. Rondo is a way better traditional PG compared to Lin. Let him talk his trash, its not like we're not suddenly a young team now. Lin is going to be targeted around the league. We'll see how it works out next season. When's the first preseason game? Haha

Yeah, there wasn't anything wrong with the original quote either. I was just curious to understand why he was talking about Lin in the first place. Like some already said, they both know each other reasonably well, Lin playing at Rondo's charity games since his college days. I also agree that it will be really good for the youngsters as well. I think the media tries to make things very individualistic, but basketball is a team sport. The rest of the roster is going to have to step up cause Lin by himself can't carry a team to a respectable record over an entire season. I think the young guys will be better for it.
I think Lin will be targeted by opposing pg's sure. But I doubt guys who don't play the guard position care one way or another.
Most likely the HK media asks about him.That being said I do think his comments are fair,something like Kidd's comments(except Kidd does mentions his strength). I think it's because lin goes to Hk and taiwan (earlier than rondo) so HK media will asks.If it's another pg say D-Will goes to HK/Taiwan around the same time i think the media will asks about him too . Also Lin's the only chinese pg in NBA out there so... HK media is ...well ..lots of gossips... Rockets always seem to beat the Celtics. Not every time but we always matched up well. Not sure how we will with our new group.
