It will take a lot to get him. He has more upside than anyone on this team right now and like someone else said they'd rather move granger....
Why don't we wait and see what we have with the SG. George averaged 12 pts, 2 ast, and 5 boards in his second season. Lamb might be able to average 10-15pts a game as a rookie if he has a good camp and can take some minutes from Kmart. Unfortunately we will have to play Kmart a bunch to increase his value for a trade. This will probably be what pisses me off the most throughout the season.
So is Paul George going to take us to the promise land or would we have had another promising player on our roster?
He's similar to Tmac except he doesn't make plays, he is not assertive on offense, he has no handle, he plays extremely solid man defense, he does not have exceptional basketball IQ and he is 2 inches taller. Otherwise, like Tmac.
So you mean he's exactly like T-Mac when he played for Toronto? Also, Paul George has shown flashes of court vision and IQ, exactly like T-Mac in Toronto.
his shooting and man defense is great. everything else needs a lot of work. and ofc he's a 6'10 SG and athletic, which mesmerizes people. Not a top 10 SG in the league though, yet. Way too soon to talk about stardom. But also won't be available for a couple mediocre assets, either.
? Tmac showed much more than flashes in Toronto. He was a superb playmaker for a 20 year old. Paul George is not a playmaker at all.
basically lol... one was an exceptional playmaker / shot creator at young age who lacked D and shooting. The other is the opposite. Both are athletic and can really dunk, therefore the comparisons I guess...
George will be a RFA in 2014 and if history repeats itself he'll get close to Batum money ($11M+). I like George a lot as player, but unless he drastically improves over the next two years I don't see him warranting that kind of money. Of course, Morey knew that 10 years ago. That's because he's super smart and plays chess, not checkers, like you clueless armchair GMs.
I see you don't watch George play much, because he is underrated as passer. Also Tmac wasn't a great ball handler in Toronto he was just a athletic kid who had potential to be a star just like George does.
well, i'm a Pacers fan, so i watch some Pacers games. I think people just tend to hype up athletes and look for crazy comparisons with all-time greats. George is just nowhere the passer or creator that T-Mac was at that age. It doesn't mean he won't become one, but right now there's little to suggest that it would happen. George is a very good shooter / athlete / defender. He's unselfish and moves the ball within the Pacers offense and ends up getting some assists, but any 'playmaking' by George right now is as likely to be successful as it is to end up in a turnover.
^Tmac wasn't a creator when he was in Toronto,he didn't start his playmaking ability till he got to Orlando.
