There's no need to piss on Rondo. He's a great player, not overrated. And I don't mind him talking trash.

What's interesting is why he singled out Lin as his target. You may say it's because of the media hype. But there are plenty of media hypes about a lot of players. Why was he so fired up against Lin?

where ever 2 or more Lin fans assemble, there will be millions of allegations of racism.

He was in Hong Kong, and he was probably asked about Lin during an interview there.

If you've ever seen Rondo during Q & A, he often makes sarcastic (and sometimes outrageously funny) comments all done with an unemotional serious-looking face. This time was no different when he was asked about Lin. This is just the competitive spirit that Rondo has.

They may not be friends, but I think Rondo has somewhat of a good rapport with Lin. After all, Rondo invited Lin to his charity game at Harvard last summer during the lockout. And recently, Lin lavished praise on Rondo during one of his interviews sometime in the last couple of weeks. In addition to the praise, I think Lin said that he's also talked to him after games (when they've played against each other). So, don't think Rondo was targeting Lin at all based on all these factors. It's just friendly, competitive trash talk. That's all it is. I'm sure it's fired up Lin and can't wait to see them play against each other. I love them both so may the best man Lin!

Rondo had 18 points, 17 rebounds, and 20 assists the only time he played against Lin...just saying

If Rondo could develop a jump shot and retain his competitive focus more consistently, he could indisputably place himself among the top 3 PG's in the game.

Gotta love it -- The Lakers are overrated because it's all "on paper" and they haven't done anything yet. But the Celtics will win a championship because of the additions of Lee, Terry and Green -- as if that team's not still "on paper" too.

That comes with being high-profile. Especially high-profile without much of a track record to back it up. We'll know soon enough whether Lin is good enough and tough enough to weather the storm.

Lin was in foul trouble most of that game from what I remember. It was Lin & whoever plays back up point for the Knicks.

Black players feel (wrongly) that the NBA is their sport, simply because more of them worked hard to be in the NBA..... If the referees go by the rules and officiate fairly across the board, everything will be fine. But that's a big IF, unfortunately.

Rondo is in the top 5 PGs, regardless of which reputable source. But Rondo is a 6-year veteran and in his prime; he started to take off big time during his 5th year (2 seasons ago). Everybody on this list played significant minutes in the NBA for at least 3 years already, except for Kyrie Irving who is a sophomore and who was the 1st overall pick in 2011.

Top 10 Point Guards in NBA by Boston's own NESN, Aug 30, 2012:
    1. Paul, Chris
    2. Rose, Derrick
    3. Williams, Deron
    4. Westbrook, Russell
    5. Rondo, Rajon
    6. Parker, Tony
    7. Nash, Steve
    8. Lawson, Ty
    9. Irving, Kyrie
    10 Holiday, Jrue

Rondo's Asian trip comes hot on the heels of a visit by the man who gave the NBA one of the season's great stories - one-time Knicks and now Houston guard Jeremy Lin. And as an opponent - and a fellow sportsman - Rondo says he, too, was caught in the pure drama of the situation as Lin went from undrafted unknown to superstar in a stint for the Knicks before he fell to injury.

"Well, it was almost the classic Cinderella story. The guy had a great opportunity and he seized his moment," says Rondo. "That stretch of 15 to 20 games he played really well, until he got hurt. But in this league everyone wants a piece of everyone. When you go against one player, you want to see what he's made of.

"So once Jeremy Lin got a lot of attention, every point guard now wants to go against him, just like every point guard wants to go against D.Rose and Chris Paul. So every night, the point guard position is tough. He deserved the attention as he played well."

And there'll be plenty more of that attention as Lin enters his first full roster in 2012-13.

"It's a different season," says Rondo. "He's going to be in all the scouting reports. I'm sure he's up for the challenge as well. He's played against the best so he knows.

"I hope he has success with the Rockets, except against the Celtics. We plan on beating the Rockets pretty bad this year and hopefully I have something to do with it. But he is going to compete and I wish him well."

That was the original story. The other articles just spun Rondo's words out of context. This one provides actual quotes from Rondo.

That one is very odd. Even John Wall is better him, despite the fact that he didn't have a good supporting cast. Also, imo, Rondo is currently #2 behind CPaul. It's surprising that Boston's own is placed in the 5th. I suspect this coming season, Rondo will peak and overtake CP3 as the undisputed #1 PG.
