I see no issue here. Rondo said nothing wrong and is most likely correct. I love his attitude. And he can back up his talk. If Rondo has a season anything like what he showed he was capable of during ECF, C's should make a good run this year (assuming KG's body holds up during the season).
I agree. Good lord if we had rajon rondo on this team instead of Jeremy lin and watched him play every night they'd know how good he is.
Yeah I agree. I saw nothing wrong with what he said. Lin will bring his A game because he is a competitor. We will lose pretty badly but if he holds his own & the rest of the teams steps up we will be better for it. Some people see this as an issue which I don't really understand why they would.
The Celtics have a below average offense.... They win games due to their stalwart defense which has a lot to do with their defensive anchor KG. Rose was the former MVP(though it was a bit undeserved). Most non Celtics fans would take Rose over Rondo if Rose is healthy. Westbrook is 23 and improving every year. He may not be as good of a playmaker as Rondo but he is an infinitely better scorer. Rondo gets a lot of assists since he can't score consistently. Would you take Chris Paul's 20/9 on high efficiency or 12/11.7 on poor efficiency? Would you take 24/5.5(Westbrook) on pretty high efficiency or 12/11.7 on poor efficiency? This is a bit debatable but I take Westbrook since he is younger and has higher upside. Not to mention he has never missed a single game in his career. Of course Rondo is not the only reason the Celtics offense is poor but if Nash or Chris Paul ran the Celtics offense there would be no doubt in my mind that the offense would be above average. Nash and Paul have ran elite offenses for most of their careers while Rondo has fielded below average-average offenses.
The fact that someone as established as Rondo feels the need to call out Lin just goes to show that we've made the right moves.
Remember this. Even bad team can win against a team such as Miami or Lakers on any given days. The most important thing is what the team achieved at the end of the season. Game against a certain player or team....who really give a damn.
i remember that game. rondo was forcing it hard and shot a horrid percentage on a bunch of shots. not just the usual bricked jump shots too.
Rajon Rondo Rondo is making $11 million next year and Lin is making $5 million. Rondo should be averaging twice as many points, assists, steals, and rebounds as Lin based on the salary difference. However, I doubt Rondo will do so.
I respect good character. People don't earn my respect just for being "amazing" in playing a sport. Rondo earned disrespect by trash talking. Basketball is a team game. He should not aim at beating one particular player.
It is a team game in which success is partially based upon a players ability to outplay the opposing player at his position. Rondo aims to do this and lets be honest he most likely will (unless Lin has done some SERIOUS improving this off-season). Nothing wrong with Rondo wanting to crush his competition, I would be worried if he didn't feel that way.
Many butthurt Knicks fans want him to fail. Kinda like how if a girl leaves you, and then you see them later on and discover they have become fat and nasty and miserable and that makes you a little pleased inside to know that. But if they seem as loveable as ever, then you're all butthurt again. And then there's the people tired of the media hype and want it to stop.
Trash talking is a part of the game. And it's a part of the game that Rondo does well. It is preferable to the prissy chumminess of some players. Talk shows competitiveness when it's backed up which Rondo does.
