to go along with VanityHalfBlack... Spoiler Also, Fields is white? I believe the one drop rule applies to him...
Race does matter in USA. In fact, the race was the deciding factor that Lin was not given a chance and the whole Lin story is all about race. The whites told Lin 'go back to China.' The blacks hate Lin's money. LOF,LOH,.......all about race. Race is a big thing in USA.
I thought "the blacks" hated Lin's money because he had only started 25 games and was practically a rookie?
Shane Battier's friends were all white too. WHATEVER. Also, are we certain all of those players listed are Christian? If they are, some of them are definitely not as openly Christian as Lin.
No offense, Catch, but the implied question underlying your OP is likely to be interpreted by most readers as "Is Jeremy Lin racist?" Surely that doesn't com as a surprise to you.
I haven't. I'm not convinced that your list is all-inclusive. But even if it is, what of it? What is the point that you're trying to make? And why do you think that it is at all relevant to the Houston Rockets?
Race should not be an issue, but unfortunately it is... So many people on the GARM are following an individual instead of the Rockets as a team. As someone stated the standards have not been set very high so when newbies come on this board, they do start threads that cause a lot of controversy. Before the Yao and McGrady era started, the GARM discussion was more about the Rockets and not about individuals. Now I barely see 99ers or 2000ers post on the GARM anymore... Hopefully, the discussions on the GARM will turn from race to the Rockets as a team. T_Man
Don't you think that he did that this off-season when he signed a contract with a new team? He will never be the GM of a team he's currently playing for. But he was a free agent this summer. And as much as he possibly ever can, he's already chosen his teammates.
I fully trust that it wasn't your intent to imply Lin was racist, but just be aware that many people could logically read it as such.
Is it me or do asian sports fans bring race into every sport. they literally ruined boxing for a lot of people because of it This is crazy why do they have to be "white" NBA players. Cant an NBA player just be an NBA Player lol smh And the worst part i get from "some" of these asian sports fans, is that they think its blacks who is the one holding them back in that particular sport. They seem to place all the blame on black people. Was is not a black man who coached Lin at Harvard, and tried to tell scouts to and NBA people to look at him. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Lin not being drafted had nothing to do black people making those decisions. If i get banned oh well, im sorry. But im sick of this nonsense man, enough is enough. I understand trolling, but its almost like its mental for some of them Hurry Up and BUY.. meanwhile the non-black is robbing their store blind.. SMH
EVEN IF - even if - even if race mattered... Who cares what friends Lin chooses to have? They're not yours or mine. We live in a culture where we follow celebrities so personally. It's disturbing.
I just joined this board this year because of lin. I think it quite common now everybody have certain players and certain teams to root for. Of course there is always one team you want them to win the most, besides that team, people also follow other teams and players. There is nothing wrong with that. I dont follow players by races, not even by skills alone. Players I root for almost include all kind of races from a few different teams, NBA is a big family, players move every year, almost every team has some players I like now.
The Knicks. He still had to play for 'the Knicks' if 'the Knicks' matched the contract. Just helping out. That's a surprisingly common mistake on these boards.
