    Altuve? Doubtful.

Castro doesn't have anyone threatening his job (Chris Wallace is a platoon guy, and even Perez probably is well).

Keuchel & Wallace may not stick (along with a host of other guys).

    Harrell isn't likely going anywhere.

We aren't the Pirates/Royals/Rays. We aren't going to trade our stars because we can't afford them.

So what are we going to do then because we can't afford them? Abandon our farm system to pay for them? ;)

Didn't you complain that the Houston Chronicle posted a negative article about a Houston sports team? Doesn't that make you a hypocrite by being negative towards a Houston sports team?

Hitting a 85 mph baseball with movement is the hardest thing to do in sports. You don't have to be insanely athletic but you have to have a skill set that is hard to find.

Plus it's not like the Rockets are playing well into the summer these days. So what do you suggest watching down here?

Trolling on the Astros and baseball in general is pretty lame.

    Shocking...he dislikes baseball entirely. :)

Awesome that he took time to start a thread in the ASTROS forum for that.

Yeah, I agree 1000%. Of all the Rockets' excuses I've heard this one is the lamest one by far. It's just another in a continuing series of Rockets' PR spins/excuses/rationalizations that seek to cover up the fact that this organization just hasn't been smart enough to get the job done.

Sorry RM95 but I just didn't see it that way. The Mavs made the plays to win and the Rockets didn't - end of story. It's like what happened to Mavericks in the 2006 Finals. The Heat and D Wade attacked the hoop while the Mavs stood around taking jumpshots. I can guarantee you that every MFFL is crying the same "The refs screwed us!" that Rockets' fans cry about that Dallas-Houston series.

As for the Astros, what is left to say? We all knew they'd be bad but no one could foresee their being this HISTORICALLY bad. One can only wait to see how things turn out in 5 years because that is about how long it will take for them to reach ground level in the American League. Were it not for the move to the AL West, I would be in tune with MadMax but the *****ty way that went down finished and was crammed down our throats finished it for me with this team, owner & organization.

What exactly about AL makes it more difficult to compete in than the NL? The AL tends to win interleague play, but not by a significant margin. In terms of the division itself, Cincinnati has a better record than Texas. Oakland and Seattle are seriously flawed teams, and the Angels should be good but are worse than the Cardinals.

That is shocking, considering the low IQ he's shown on this forum as a whole.

It's been awhile since I've watched a game and I've only been to one game this season, but I still love my Astros, warts and all.

I think Crane and co. are moving things in the right direction, and hopefully next year with a new league, new division, new uniform and logo, this team can truly start fresh and start to play better.

Nothing beats a ballpark hot dog at a baseball game and nothing beats the excitement of playoff baseball. And for that, I will wait for the Astros to become relevant again.

I'm just stating my opinion freely and I'm enjoying to see that many of you don't really have good reasons to even watch the Astros..maybe you just have too much free time in you lives to watch a 5 hour baseball game in which your team will lose and won't make the playoffs.

Please tell me how baseball is even athletic, or how it is a team sport? All I see are individual positions on the field that make up what looks like a team but they don't even have to work together besides the pitcher and catcher.

I still wonder why you are posting negative comments about a Houston sports team when you chastised the Chronicle for doing the same thing.

A FIVE hour baseball game? Are you watching cricket? Is that why you're confused?

    EDIT:

I know I shouldn't bother, but things are slow at the office. Have you ever seen a double play? How about a simple base hit to the outfield in which players maneuver to be in position for a throw to a base or a cutoff? Have you ever seen a catcher (or other player) postion players for hitters and/or situations? Have you ever seen the communication between a pitcher and the infielders for pickoffs or double plays?

By your posts, you clearly do not understand baseball. By the way, since you know exactly when the Astros are going to lose, have you thought about flying to Las Vegas and making a boatload of money?

Ugh! WTF? This 2012 bunch would lose 125 games in the AL. The AL is light years ahead of the crappy NL. Doesn't matter to me because when this went down last November I gave up on today's game. Baseball has a great history and that's where my interest remains. I couldn't even name five players on the Astros current roster.

Yeah, the greatest basketball player even couldn't even hit his weight in the minors.

FWIW, we were 6-9 (6 games against the best team in the AL) against the AL this season. That is 40% winning percentage compared to 30% against the NL.

So, our preferences and opinions are invalid while yours are?

Or maybe the reasons given are good enough for us?

Not worth the time. Clearly you *are* this stupid. Welcome to my ignore list, moron.
