Oh I'm sorry, I forgot record history started at the 16th amendment. Also this year revenues are expected to be the 3rd highest of all time ($2.45 trillion). The first and second were FY2007 ($2.57 trillion) and FY2008 ($2.52 trillion). Unfortunately, spending this year is an all-time high at $3.8 trillion. Really makes you wish for the FY2008 spending level of $2.9 trillion, doesn't it. My advice to you, spend some time here instead of repeating DU's talkingpoints: http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/Historicals
Oh I'm sorry I forgot that there's a hardcore of complete idiots who think that it's desirable to go back to the 19th century or before and that's even remotely relevant to the discussion. Again, friend, I invite you to lose yourself in that world and then let the rest of the grownups talk. Meanwhile, back in the real world - taxes are as low as they've ever been, and Obama has kept them there. But yet there's "bubbling over anger' about his taxatious ways....the disconnect suggests something a lot more embarrassing and less flattering.
I was going to rebut this, but then I realized that you and Joe Biden can't get your centuries straight.
How are you going to rebut it? 19th century is being generous, the roots of gilded age garbage that Paultards point too and scream about can be traced back a few hundred years further to the pre-Adam Smith era.
simply put, Obama's plan for the economy has failed. Just look at our unemployment levels -- they are a national disgrace Humans tend to react most aggressively when they're backed into a corner and aren't confident in their initial beliefs. That's the case here -- you've got Republicans pissed because Obama's failed at the economy, and you've got democrats who are irrationally being hateful/aggressive because they can't defend their own candidate's track record.
This is demonstrably false. I (and many others) have pwn3d you many times on Mr. Obama's record. And I am quite happy to talk about it more.
Please tell us what Obama plan passed the US Congress and is currently effecting the US economy. In my opinion the Republican majority had 8 years to rape the US economy resulting in the destruction of trillions of dollars of average Americans' equity. Now you you vilify Obama for not totally fixing that in 3 years with an obstructionist House on his back so you can put the very same people back in charge. The truth is most of the very same people will be in charge of economic policy under either administration but one side at least poses the pretense of being different. Your tact is the definition of insanity.
the time for blaming the previous president has come and gone Obama's wearing this one his plan just hasn't worked. We need a new path
Come on, one example. I don't even know what his "plan" is other than preventing a New Depression by bailing out rich people and vital industry. So what is the new path? tax cuts for the wealthy and more socialization of loss and privitazation of profits.
Example. Reagan took over a terrible economy and turned it around. Obama is just too inexperienced and has no experience or understanding of what it takes to enable the job creators. I'm not talking about Wall St, which is pretty liberal ironically. Most New York Wall Street people supported Obama in the last election cycle. Its just a sad day when banks around the world don't want American's business because they fear the intrusiveness of our government.
That's not a policy. That is still the result of the greatest economic meltdown since 1929 caused by a lack of financial oversight in home loans, re-insurance and derivatives. That '29 one took a war and 15 years to work out. I' m pretty sure Obama is not going to get as Public Employment bill through the House. He didn't start with a huge deficit, in fact, he cause a huge deficit. Not an option now. Typically you create a job creation environment with cheap loan money, money has never been cheaper than it is right now. The problem is a lack of demand because too much equity was destroyed. The question or plan, is how to you give the larger population of Americans their buying power back.
It just has to be Baffling to Obama and his advisors. He has all these groups pushing green energy jobs and all these agenda items saying they will help unemployment. Then they're just perplexed when it doesn't create jobs and we have horrendous unemployment and underemployment numbers. They need to realize its been four years and their policies have failed. They've jumped on business and increased regulations and the looming threat of healthcare and other issues when the economy was fragile and kept it from getting up. Yet they're continuing to dig in believing their policies will work when they've clearly failed.
The guy hasn't met with his Jobs council in ages. A president has never been re-elected with unemployment rates this high. When will people drop the blinders?
Obamacare Dodd-Frank The Stimulus (Created a false economy that provided a temporary boost and crashed when the money ran out) QED Policies not required to pass Congress, but greatly effecting the economy: The new EPA policy of "Sue and Settle." The Permitorium GM bailout and takeover
Obama has had four years, in which he had complete control of the Congress and Senate in the first two and still wasn't able to turn this thing around? It was a tough situation but he has not helped and has vilified cast a cloud over the true entrepreneurs of this nation. We can argue all we want but the fact is that his policies have failed. He had free reign to implement his policies and all they've done is push more people to the Welfare line. Epic Fail.
I just wish the GOVERNMENT, both sides, can reduce spending! We keep talking about who's paying their fair share when we should be talking about why our Government keeps spending so much money that just keeps increasing.
