No, I didn't say on your feet. I'm saying you let your feet hit first to absorb some of the blow, then your legs/knees, then your arms and abdomen and finally your neck and head. You still may have some neck/head injuries and there's the risk of hurting your spine/back but doing that while curling up in a ball (plus maybe putting your arms over your head to protect it from impact) can be the difference between life and death. And like I said, it probably happened so fast that it's all easier said than done.
I don't get it, why even bother trying to be cool or funny... 45 years old sliding down an escalator... really.
Demon alcohol. If the dude had smoked a doobie instead, he would have been running down the escalator trying to find the nearest Taco Bell....
Imagine....seriously... My friend got in a freak car wreck and killed his best friend... Imagine I can't...be grateful for today... N yea TOO Soon
Darwin award candidate. Love all these posters offended by the well done jokes (props Ziggy, DonnyMost). Did you know him? No? then **** him.
The guy has been identified as Jonathan Kelly, 25 years old. Being that he is my age, this hits a little harder. http://www.chron.com/news/houston-t...-killed-in-Reliant-escalator-fall-3829474.php
http://www.chron.com/news/houston-t...D-man-killed-in-Reliant-escalator-3829474.php According to the Chronicle he was 25 years old and sliding down the railings of the escalator, and fell more than 3 stories which is considerably different from a 40-50 year old "horsing around" and falling ~15 feet.
LOL, I'm not trying to sound like it's an art form but I've prevented injuries in the past and because I had quick enough reflexes and knew how to break up an otherwise hard fall. Like I've jumped off a short roof before and onto some grass (which makes it way easier to fall obviously) and knew how to get down easily without endangering my ankles, back, stomach or head. Of course, when you're talking about cement or a marble floor, it's not so easy, especially the higher you jump from but like I said earlier it's best to have a few broken bones by landing on non-essential body parts first.
