I do too. Mike Conley is a game manager who does everything that is asked of him. He won't wow you on the court but he constantly makes smart plays and never tries to do too much. You're right that he doesn't change the flow of the game but he helps his team in every way. Rubio does not have a jump shot and his defense while solid is not as good as Mike Conley. He has elite playmaking ability but he's still controlling it which forces a lot of unnecessary turnovers. He is kind of like Rondo but he still needs time to reach that level where he is consistent and doesn't allow the defense to slow him down. Will Rubio be better than Mike Conley in the future? Most definitely. Is he at that point now? Nope
well what's the point in comparing an all star with a filler just because they play the same positions. i'll never figure out how many '<' i have to place between Joe Johnson and Brandon Rush... or Noah and Speights.... so i'm just comparing in-game impact, best to worst. cp3, love are tier one stars, MVP candidates. But i feel like i'm downgrading. I'd want CP3 over Love on my team (in a vacuum). Blake is a tier two star. Flawed, but still a top 25 player, someone with a good shot at all-nba consideration. Joe Johnson is in lower tier at this point. A top 50 player. Noah, Irving are tier 3 as well. Both probably a bit worse than Johnson, though it's debatable. If I'm picking one of them for one series, right now, it depends on the team. In a vacuum, it's a tough choice.
