Four more years. We don't need a third term of Dubya's policies.

I read an article that equated Obama's AMA to Clinton's MTV Rock the Mic event, in which one of the questions he was asked was whether he wears boxers or briefs. Back then, it was so cool to be able to candidly ask the President personal questions, and I think that's what Obama was ultimately hoping for. Instead, it just seemed very calculated/staged since he only answered the questions that interest Redditors (i.e. Internet privacy). It was a nice try but I think it could have been way more effective if it was handled differently. But then again... The cool vote is all it takes to win sometimes and just hosting an AMA is pretty damn cool.

The AMA section is pretty interesting because you will get a guy that is 'an electrician'.. or a girl that 'works at a w**** house' and folks ask the person. You can join in and ask questions too. Cool part is there are so many on there and so many different topics.

The 'today I learned' section is also interesting since it posts interesting facts. For example from today there is a link about picking your nose and how it is supposedly good for your immune system. Just tidbit stuff but good stuff. They have a pretty good p*rn section. They have subdirectories for history or sex questions. All kinds of stuff.

Difference between reddit and Clutchfans is reddit is like being in a room with 1000 people and everyone talking at same time. Clutchfans is like being in a room with 50 people ..so that's what makes clutchfans special.. yet site like reddit allows for a wider variety of input since it is that many more people.

I like reddit and overall think its a great site. You should check it out. Alexis Ohanian started it and he is very nice guy and responds to emails. I have talked to him on several occasions and surprised at how accessible and engaging he is. Great guy and I wish them nothing but the best.

Yep, that one's totally representative of the types of questions he answered.

'What's the recipe for the White House's beer?'

'How do you balance family life and hobbies with, well, being the POTUS?'

'What is the first thing you'll do on November 7th, win or lose?'

Which question do you feel was a hard ball? The funding for space programs? real hot topic.......

I can't believe the question "We know how Republicans feel about internet freedom." LOL, what a fool. Both parties are anti-freedom when it comes to the internet (and most other personal matters as well)

No. I don't see one hardball question. Instead of 'why are small businesses struggling so much after you have been in office for 4 years?' you get
'How are you going help small businesses in 2013 and 2014? and what if any bills are you going to implement for small businesses, in 2013, and 2014?' . These are what's called soft ball questions in politics and I am willing to bet posters on reddit sent some much more aggressive questions then this. This is fluffy bull**** for 5-10 yr olds who don't vote anyways. He should be doing something else.

Yeah. Basically any party that received 'donations' from massive media conglomerates has been more-or-less anti-internet.

He wasn't even doing it, it was some low level political advisor. If you expected him to answer the "hardball questions" on an internet forum, you were obviously being a little too optimistic.

I don't go to Reddit expecting hard-hitting questions. A lot of those questions are the kind of stuff you'd expect somebody to ask him if they ran into him at a bar or in an elevator. Just simple, unique things. We have a crapton of press corp/media and more documented statements from Obama about most of these issues than we'll ever need, so, if you're upset he didn't answer some of them, try google and I bet you'll get your answer. (FYI, you might also want to consider the site was pretty much down consistently 10 minutes after that AMA started)

My last post was many pages ago. I was referring to another poster's comment about winning voters from going onto a site. Nothing against Obama there, it could be the other side...Romney etc....and I'll say the same thing.
