Omgz!!! Obama did an AMA on reddit! How ****ing cool! I'm gonna go vote for him in November! FDR is rolling over in his grave right now.
That's like saying Godaddy is a terrible website because a pornsite uses its service. Reddit merely hosts the content and "sponsors" quite a few official subreddits. However, subreddits like spacedicks, gonewild, etc. really only fill a certain niche and regardless shouldn't be lumped into the "main" subreddits.
Don't get me wrong...i know how great reddit is, get a lot of news from that site and know that it isn't just a p*rn filled clusterf**k but i still can't shake the feeling that the president shouldn't be doing an AMA. Out of curiosity how would you react if Bush did the same thing during his presidency?
Honestly? I never hated Bush as a person. I hated his policies, obviously. If he did an AMA I'd respect him more as a person I guess. Not entirely sure. I always saw Bush as a nice guy but entirely unaware of how to run the nation.
Yea i always thought of Bush as someone you could have a beer with at a bar, tell a couple of jokes with but that doesnt translate to a good presidency. To me he just was not ready or maybe even capable enough to hold the office. Anyway, the presidency is the highest office in the land and the president shouldnt be pandering for votes like Woody Harrelson panders for people to go see his movie...but i guess doing an AMA would be the same thing as going on Lettermen or Leno so maybe i am over reacting. Either way Obama still has my vote
Woody Harrelson got his ass destroyed on Reddit because he made it an obvious movie PR ploy. This Obama AMA was a PR ploy too but he didn't wave around "vote for me!" in the faces of everyone on Reddit, which is why the reception wasn't negative.
He spent thirty minute answering questions because he was busy. If he answered 100 questions everyone would b**** and complain about him not doing anything except sitting at his computer.
So is someone going to explain what reddit is and how it works, and what the idea is behind this QandA? For the record I am 23, use the internet to watch movies, play games, and download music, and have never heard of reddit.
It's an Internet community much like clutchfans in theory but about 50x the material and viewpoints. It's basically the complexity of life on a huge interactive online message board
Cmon man, no regular redditor or person or whatever was gonna vote for romney to begin with. If any of those people bothered to go vote, they woulda voted for obama anyway. His sycophants in the media are whining about the gop convention during isaac yet hes the dude who controls fema (aka the people who handles these things) and hes spending his time on reddit answering softball questions to a group of people whose main goal is to make it to their next mocachino venti latte.
No he is not....FDR was about the people. Reddit=Modern Fire-side Chat. If you don't know what the Fire-side chats are....wikipedia is your friend.
