In the spirit of this thread, I should also note that the Republican attack on Obama's economic record on women is largely a fallacy because of the rationale I noted above, and that it makes all the sense in the world for most women to prefer a Democratic ticket.

I believe that you will not fix the debt problem without both raising taxes on those who can pay it and having meaningful cuts in spending. Both sides of the equation must be accomplished to have a solution that is any more Antwan window dressing.

The most lunacy of all of this is the corporate tax situation. Many large, profitable corps pay next to nothing in taxes. Seems wrong to me.

Occasionally, I think about posting something heartfelt and constructive in one of these threads.

Then I stop and remind myself that nothing I say will ever get through the deep seeded hatred that Democrats have for women that don't think like they do.

    So here's a puppy instead:

The two party system needs to be abolished, and money/corporate influence removed from politics.

"All obstructions to the execution of the Laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They [the political parties] serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation, the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels, and modified by mutual interests."
    -George Washington

This republican/democrat infighting is just an orchestrated distraction. Our politicians are pawns of and the media is owned by the same greedy people responsible for our financial crisis, (who made off like bandits, while political parties took the blame).

I second that emotion. The only way to solve the deficit/debt issues is through the combination of spending cuts and tax hikes.
