That is what the history channel is for. Seriously though, I find all this to be interesting. But other than what you learn in grade school and college; we are out of touch with it. Blame whoever you want but this Indian guy is an example of how little people care at times about stuff that goes on around the world that is not related to us. (Assuming her really didnt know what doing)
So you prefer more emphasis on murders by communists rather than genocide against Jews. also I was laughing at your "they learn math and science" blast with my comment. India has a pretty horrible literacy rate.
I remember my freshman english teacher asking us the same question. We spend a large portion of 6th grade and 8th grade covering the Holocaust- and I think the other 11th graders did. We spent a large chunk of 9th grade on gandhi, child labor, and apartheid. Come to think of it, most of my history experience (apart from APUSH) was repetitive. Learning about the same 3 wars, colonial era, and the structure of our government dominating most of it. History education in this country is really lacking.
Yep. I think we had half a paragraph on the whole Indian Independence/creation of Pakistan. The only time we touched on East Asia was when it came time to discuss the Vietnam War or Pearl Harbor. Kids didn't know what China was. I kid you not. In Geography we had kids that couldn't point out China or Russia. WTF? We never touched any African countries besides a little bit of a blurb on Mandela, and of course the Pyramids. And that's about it.
I'm sure you keep telling your kids that when you unwrap their new back-to-school clothing, freshly folded and shipped from India.
say what you want, but their education system is superior. All indian exchange students rape the **** out of all the classes. It pisses people off because it screws with the curve. This guy is a piece of **** though, not just b.c of the name, but the fact he is pretending to be stupid. Publicity stunt.
The odds of the swastika and Hitler being in the same design with no idea of who Hitler was? Improbable. I think he was chasing publicity.
Yes, but India was controlled by the British during WWII. It was shortly after the war that they gained their independence. Seems like it might have some importance to their country.
Dude, there are a billion people in that country and so many are poor that they are just looking for a meal.
Yea I didn't mean him by any means, this guy reminds me of some filthy scum trying to get attention like that vagina monster snooki or w.e.
Props to MadMax presenting an alternative to the swastika reference. People dogging on education over there...well, it appears they could say the same thing about us and our knowledge of their culture and history.
my understanding is that swastika is the opposite direction as the hinu/buddha symbol. he should been able to tell the difference rightaway being an indian. unless the direction is exchangable in india. if not, he is obviously lying.
But wasn't the war (among other reasons) why the British relinquished control of their colonies? I know some Irish Americans supported the Germans in both World Wars, simply because they were fighting the British. I wouldn't be surprised if there was pro-Nazi sentiment there, even if it's faded now.
What a fukin tard. If he would have spent 10 seconds on wikipedia searching 'hitler' im sure he would have chose other wise.
In those instances the swastika is square like so: Hitler rotated it at 45 degrees essentially at random. If it is a "diamond shaped" swastika, it is a Nazi one. Ancient Hindu ones look square. The way he has it on his sign, in a circle at 45 degrees is pretty much only used by the Nazis.
