Good video at http://www.earthcam.com/usa/louisiana/neworleans/bourbonstreet/ The camera was down a little while ago, but you can still see the 24hour archive. The 8-9 am section has some interesting things. at 8:08 there is an umbrella flying around. 8:09 a crazy guy picks it up and throws it away. At 8:11 there are what looks like lost tourist wandering around. Very good way to get an idea of what the weather is like there.
Yeah, after this again, if I'm a resident of NO, I'm out. Screw this every few years. http://media.khou.com/images/600*603/Ragas_Eastbank_Plaquemines_Parish_isaachits.jpg
I am not finding the archive?? All I can see is the still images. Ouch. Yeah, why would you want to live in a soup bowl?
About 10 minutes after I posted it they lost the feed. I'm guessing they lost power. Supposedly last night one of the bars was having a big hurricane party and the cops came in and shut them down. They said you could see the whole thing on camera and it was pretty funny.
Downgraded to a Tropical Storm. Lots of rain though... WHOO. Just saw the predicted High for Nacogdoches for tomorrow is below 80 degrees!
That is just ridiculous; it is crazy to live in an area below sea level with walls all around you holding out the ocean. I guess in such a situation it doesn't matter what the intensity of the storm is except more wind damage which is somewhat irrelevant when water is over your house. This is just tragic. May God have mercy on these people.
