I wrote out a much longer response than is really warranted... so I'm just going to replace it with this: I'm sorry the UT fan base get a reminder every time something negative happens with VY. The rest of us were sick and tired hearing about how he was going to revolutionize the QB position in the NFL and the Texans were too stupid (multiple times) to cash in on it from said UT fan base. That went on for five ridiculously long years despite mediocre quarterback play and tantrums from a guy that's supposed to be a leader on the field.

I don't hope VY fails. I just don't want to hear about how great he is/was from you delusional blowhards anymore in reference to the NFL since he hasn't done anything really meaningful in the NFL. If that makes me a boring blowhard, I'm fine with that. If he manages a miraculous comeback and becomes the quarterback that everyone expected him to be then good for him. Until then, expect a little ribbing if he comes up in the news for other reasons/shortcomings.

If you still need cudos on winning the Rose Bowl in 2006 though, congratulations. Vince was a magnificent college quarterback. It doesn't seem to have translated to the NFL.

On a side note, I was fairly amused to notice that David Carr has a better (granted, only by half a point) career passer rating than Vince.

I can't compare a Heisman Trophy to a National Championship...obviously in a game of "choose only one" I would rather have the latter.

But at some point as a guy who bleeds Cougar red...I was forced to admit Andre Ware wasn't a very good pro-quarterback. Then shortly thereafter I was forced to admit the same about David Klingler.

Those of you who bleed Orange will always have the memories...memories as a Cougar fan I am one Akeem Olajuwon failed box out from having.

Seriously...it is time to give it up....he sucks....continuing to prop him up only gives UT haters like me something to laugh about.

He probably is not ...er....verbal...enough to have an announcing career like Andre...but some UT alum will take very good care of him in a mutually beneficial arrangement. VY will be just fine. And maybe one day, after all of this is forgotten...you can rub up against him shirtless in a 50+ club and laugh.

Who is propping him up at this point. He just got cut for TJackson. I think the the haters like you are the ones out in full force trying to hate on a guy for failing. There are plenty of guys who fail in the nfl including many first rounders. He did make a couple of pro bowls and was roy. That is probably already better than most guys who are drafted.

You tell me I'm not a true Texans fan and then you post one of the most painful videos in Texan's history? As if you enjoyed it?

i didn't resurrect this thread. truth of the matter is i haven't followed vy since it was clear he couldn't hack it. i didn't even know buffalo picked him up, so don't give me this i'm so but hurt and emotionally damaged. i'm not. mods should just lock the thread if they don't like it. people have come here to rub it in, or a couple stupid people still holding out hope for a second coming. some kid who wasn't even around for the majority of this thread called vy fans dick riders, and that he loved to see them "face reality." so i called him a **** sucker, what's the difference? i hate petty people. call me whatever you want, i can take it, but if you act like an ass, expect me to respond in kind. i also don' tlike getting neg repped for quid pro quo. the guy's name is david stern, LOL. you don't think he should expect a little backlash for that alone?:)

He did enjoy it. Too bad that he's not a fan of easily the BEST franchise in Houston.

His excuse is that this is a Rockets board. Hmm who would think that Rockets and Texans fans would be the same for the most part?

Before last season you could argue the Texans were one of the 5 worst franchise in all of sports. That is the beauty of the NFL in that quick turnarounds are easy to do.

Care to explain? We were 8-8 for three straight seasons and went 6-10 due to crap load of injuries.

I felt like we had turned the corner since 06 as far as drafting was concerned. Now, we get superstars like Foster taking reasonable deals to stay with the team.

Let's get this strait. This is a thread about how VY is great. You and any other "haters" are trolling. This is a fact. I don't have a problem with it. I enjoy arguing with you about it. BUT to say that the people who liked VY who made this thread should give up bc you'll just keep trolling is r****ded.

I like VY. I'll defend him when I think he should be defended. What you think is not nearly as important enough to make me stop.

One average nfl teams make the playoff once in three years. The texans hadn't the playoffs in 9 years. That is pretty much pirates, royals bad when adjusted to the NFL.

We were average for 4 years or so. I'm not sure how you correlate that with being the bottom 5 franchises in all of sports.

Average from crappy, plus taking the longest time ever for an expansion team = horrible franchise.

I was an Oilers fan. Warren Moon, Ernest Givens, House of Pain.
That song that sounds just the like the Dolphins song.

Tried to get into the Texans but nah, it's not the same.

It's like if the Rockets left and they replaced it with the Houston Bobcats.

This thread needs to be locked up! Yeah there are a lot of UT alums including myself on this board that liked VY. I dont know about other people but as far as I am concerned I stopped giving a **** about VY when he left a year early to go join the NFL. The guy was never going to be a NFL QB. Whoever thought that he was going to revolutionize the QB position in the NFL were r****ded. Just to point it out to UT haters that homerism is not exclusive to UT alums. There are people predicting RG III to be a top 5 QB in the NFL after one half of pre season football on this very board.

    I'm fat...how observant.

Vince is very fit, still popular and probably even now has more money in his couch cushions than I have in the bank.

I have an IQ you can cook food with. We all have our strengths and weaknesses...but there aren't a bunch of people pretending I am gonna "revolutionize" anything...except maybe the circumnavigation of a Golden Corral.
