I have decided to create this forum so we can learn everything about politics. If you dont understand the politics terms or concepts, this is a good place to discuss and ask questions.

I want to know what is the difference between republic and democrat? I was trying to understand the concept but I am still confused. And I dont know which side I should go with? Can you give me examples between R and D? Also, What is GOP republican convention? Thank you for your help.

Any else here old enough to miss Encyclopedias? We had '68 World Book and '69 Britannica sets growing up, I used to look up the articles on individual states so I could look at the governor's mansions. They both had articles on the US Government with diagrams that had pictures in the spot for the President, grinning Nixon in one and LBJ in the other, looking like he just read RFK's tracking poll. The Britannica one's article on World War II had a cover page that was a color photo of big Nazi military rally/speech with all the Kaiser helmets in the audience and banners up, embarrassingly enough I always thought that picture looked pretty cool.

^I had the 82 edition of encyclopedias...the same year I was born. 10 years later, they sent my family annual supplement editions that I was grateful my parents bought.

Big nerd here, but I read everything I was interested in. It doesn't hold a candle to Britannica or Wikis but back then as a 7 yr old, it was really accessible.

I had the 1981 Funk and Wagnalls Encyclopedia set... all of my middle and high school papers were based on research from it...

    1) Read the description of this forum:

    BBS Hangout
Want to talk about music, places, people, a big ass Gordita or just any interest BBS users may have in common outside of the Rockets or specified forums -- this is the place. Politics, Religion, Race? Not here - Take that to the debate forum.

    2) Look less than an inch down on the screen:

    BBS Hangout: Debate & Discussion
Monkeys flinging poo at each other. Politics, Religion, Race and other heated topics you wouldn't fire away on in polite conversation. Not for the weak of heart, but keep it civilized or you'll get the heave.

Much like the ending of Mass Effect 3. You're basically just choosing colors.

Pick whichever color you like best, but if you pick Republican, Sheppard dies.

I'm old enough to have had one as a kid, but I don't miss it. Wikipedia can do things a bound book couldn't dream of doing. The best part of mine as a kid though was a series of clear plastic pages with the various human anatomy systems. So, you can start with the skeleton, drop the circulatory system on top, then the respiratory, muscular, and whatever.
