The teams we are "competing with" in our race to the bottom are:

    Atlanta
    Charlotte
    Cleveland
    Detriot
    New Orleans
    Orlando
    Portland
    Sacramento
    Washington

9 teams. My guess is our pick is 6-10, and Toronto's is 10-14. Packaged together with nothing else as trade bait, we could probably get the 4th pick, depending on team order and players available.

We tanked to get Ralph Sampson and Akeem Olajuwon, not some high school junior.

Goran and Lowry played the same position, and I think Lin is comparable to those two so the pg spot is essentially the same as last year.

Scola was a loss but the way he played last year wasn't good, and Asik is guaranteed to be an improvement over Dalembert/Hill C rotation we had going on last year.

    The Rox aren't tanking.

BTW just out of curiosity have you ever scouted anyone 2 years before they could even become a college freshman? LOL Andrew Wiggins? Not saying he will be a bust, but 2nd year high school doesn't mean anything. IIRC Austin Rivers was the number 1 prospect in high school.

This is crazy talk to me.

Lowry, Dragic, Lee, Scola, Dalembert, Camby and Budinger. That is SEVEN of our top 10 rotation players from last year (and I won't even count Hill). The only players remaining from our rotation last year are Martin, Patterson and Parsons. And we weren't even in the top half of the league then! So the idea that we can get rid of that kind of depth and experience and still remain competitive after having replaced those seven guys with Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik, Toney Douglas, Carlos Delfino and a bunch of rookies seems borderline delusional to me.

Lebron's games were being televised when he was a sophomore in high school. It isn't unprecedented.

This is ridiculous. I say just let them play and the chips will fall where they may.

Chances of us getting Wiggins are somewhere around 1%. Not worth worrying yourself about.

What the hell has he shown that puts him above Wade, Durant, Paul, Dwight Howard, etc as a prospect? He looks like he could be a franchise player but best prospect since Lebron? Please....

That is IF Wiggins really is on the same talent level as a Lebron James, Kobe, or Garnett coming out of high school. Im not sure anyone can project him that high right now.

I see a Austin Rivers/Harrison Barnes type of hype right now. With the one-and-done rule we will see what he can do on the college level first before we crown him the next great thing. I agree he's not worth worrying about now, and the front office would be dumb to make future plans based on getting a this one kid playing against 5'10" high schoolers.

So yeah, not worth worrying about, but hey its August.

Wiggins right now is better than Barnes and Rivers. Only thing that will doom him is a major injury. He's the real deal.

If your ready to put your reputation on the line that he's the real deal thats fine, but I hope you understand that there is something like 2 years left until he hits the draft, and alot can happen in that timeframe. Other players can catch up at the next level just like with Barnes, Rivers, and soon to be Noel, and Shabaaz.

Ive seen the Youtube videos like everyone else on this forum. Yeah, he looks like he has all the physical tools, but take it from a guy that played against Rashard Lewis and Alief in High School.

    -Old man story-

When Rashard dunked on me, a 6'1" white wing player who didn't believe in passing the basketball or rebounding, it had to have looked pretty damn impressive on YouTube as well. Yes, Rashard Lewis was in a class of his own in high school, and was an all-star level talent for a few seasons in the NBA, but you cant put him in the same class of high school standouts that went on to become great superstars like Kobe, Lebron, and Garnett.

People can hope that a great talent like that comes around again, and hype up someone like Wiggins if they want... its truely good for the sport, but me, until I see him play with the big boys, count me in as a sceptic.

And we got nothing for them. Well, we potentially get a draft pick from Toronto and that could turn out great, but we're getting absolutely nothing for them for this season.

Nobody has mentioned yet that he's Mitchell Wiggin's son. I was really sad when he got banned, I thought he was a terrific young player.

    Understandable.

    And nice story.

So you wait and watch. I'm already convinced that he's a superior basketball player, not just a superior talent or a superior athlete, a superior player.

When I watch high schoolers play, I don't look at athleticism. Most of the guys that are the top recruits coming into college, they're mostly all good to great athletes. And I don't look at a singular skill such as shooting, or just the handle. I look at all the skills together. Can he shoot it? Can he handle? Can he distribute? And then the bball iq, one of the most important things that separates merely good from great. Does he make the right basketball plays? Does he know when to shoot, when to pass, when to handle, what matchups on the floor to go to? Then attitude. how does he carry himself? Is he a bball dog or does he coast during games? How hard does he work? And lastly, leadership ability. Is he the leader of his team? Do his mates look to him for direction, do they follow his lead?

This kid checks all the boxes man. He's got all the skills, yeah, he's got athleticism in spades, but....he makes all the right plays for his team, he's a hard worker and he's a distinguished leader. He's the most dominant player in H.S. and he's just coming off his sophomore season. He's the main cog on every team he plays, including all those offseason special teams where he is aligned with other top recruits. He's the best H.S. player in the country and he's got 2 years of H.S. eligibility left if he chooses to use them, which he probably won't.

I'm sold. The only thng that will change my mind is if he gets hurt or he comes up with a some sort of personal issue (gets in trouble with the law, gets caught with dope, etc.).

I think the two premier players available in the next two drafts are Cody Zeller and Andrew Wiggins. I'm dreaming somehow that the basketball elves align those lottery balls so that we get these two guys. Yes, I know, it's a dream.

There's a new "best prospect since LeBron" every year. Funny how you rarely hear much about most of them a few years down the road.

If Andrew Wiggins does not go number 1 whenever he declares( barring injury). I will leave this site for good. Thats a bet im willing to make, hes that good

he could good win rookie of the year this coming NBA season if he were eligible, hes is that sure of a lock.

He is so far beyond his age group its laughable, he is dominating top 5 high school players above his age class and in some cases 2 age classes above. He owned Shabazz Muhammad h2h, and recently just destroyed Julius Randle( ESPN's number 1 overall prospect for the 2013 class). His only only comp is Jabari Parker who unfornately was battling an ankle injury this summer. But thats it, no other prospect is even close to this kid.
